Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? University students should be required to take basic science classes even they are not part of the field of the study.

A college or a university is the place where one can gain knowledge and become valuable to the society. However, upon the question, which is better---university students should be required to take basic science classes or students should not be required to take these because they are not part of the field of the study. Different people have different opinions due to their diverse cultural backgrounds. From my personal angle, I am in favor of the opinion that if students are not part of the field they should not be required to take basic science classes.

First of all, we have already learn these basic science classes before we go to universities or colleges and the volume of the knowledge of these aspects is definitely enough to us. As we all know, the fundamentals of science is as much as necessary for us to deal with an awkward situation of our life. There are numerous instances closely fit the notion, just like my personal experience. As a lawyer, only I need is the knowledge of law and I do not need too much of the basic science lore. The more knowledge of law I learn, the more easier can I have an excellent job. So why we should learn what we will not use any more after examination?

In addition, learning these courses would occupy us a lot of time. We have only 24 hours, but most of the time we must work hard on our majors. You know, the competition between students for a good job has been keen. A student stands out first only if he studies deeply in his major. But if students have required to take these basic science classes, we would have many things to do and our schedule become very tight. We could not give full attention to our majors. For example, my friend is in another university, she must take these basic science classes, she often complained to me about her tight curriculum and low marks of her major. So I think if students are not part of the field they should not be required to take basic science classes

Furthermore, the development of society is urgent for the talents that proficient in each field not the versatile person without any proficiency. So all we need to do is to study deeply in our major. In a society fraught with new difficulties and problems, a specialist, when faced with them, will come up with solutions more easily than those who know much knowledge but not skilled. That is why I believe that we should only study our majors.

To sum up, without doubt, a college or a university is the place where dreams can be fulfilled. So taking into account all the factors discussed above, we could safely come to the conclusion that if students are not part of the field of the study they should not be required to take basic science classes. It is a good idea for us to study deeply in our majors.
