Many of the world's lesser-known languages are being lost as fewer and fewer people speak them. The governments of countries in which these languages are spoken should act to prevent such languages from becoming extinct.

Nowadays, we are surrounded by English ， Chinese or some other major languages. Then comes the worry that those lesser-known languages are being lost as fewer and fewer people speak them, and as the government which the language is spoken should act to prevent such languages from being extinct, people asserted. From my perspective, the basic to understanding of the topic is that we know exact the lesser-known languages' position held in a society.


The languages, according to a famous languagist in my university, are the essence of the city's or the town's culture. They are not only important to the people but also a manifestation of the civilization. From generations to generations, the ancient people used the unique language which trensidented from their older generations to best illustrate their own sagas, their own culture. What is more important is that the language is the major way
they communicate with each other,
exchange ideas with each other. In other words, the languages are the fundamental way
you get access to a new culture, to know a place and its people. Every languages is different from others, why, you may wonder, for the language are the unity of the complex, mixed and precious legacy.


Although that the languages are so precious, but it can not reverse the tendency that those languages are becoming more and more difficult to find people who can be well spoken, especially young people who get more involved in the popular society. There goes a national survey which tells that about 97% of the people in the world speak the only 4% of the languages, and perhaps there will be another a quarter of century we would lose all the lesser known language.We are driven to the major languages for the some immediate reasons such as it would be more likely to have a wanted job, or more easily to communicate or deal with people outside. We can not easily blame them who just want a job or want selfdepending life. The responsibility largely due to the government as the assertion had said.


As for the government, which goal is to better our lives and what is more,
protect the society legacy from being disappearing, should take measures to prevent this disappearing trend. Language is the unique sign as a society. From the language, we see various differences from society and society. The government should not let the society lose its identity without doing nothing. Not long before, during the People's congress of china of 2009, a representative proposed that in the early school such as elementary school and middle school, we should teach the student to write and learn what we called traditional Chinese, to gain more knowledge from our ancient intellectures, and this has been conducted in some regional and received fully welcome. This suitable case best illustrate that if the government has really taken action to prevent such language disappearing, there will definitely change the situation in some level.


Although, the government should make effects to keep the lesser-known language from disappearing does not mean that we should protect the language no matter how much we would cost. What is more realistic way is to weigh the cost and effect and find a balance point, then the government take actions.

From what we have discussed above, we can safely conclude that the dying language is the legacy from our ancestors, even some of disappearing tendency is unreversiable, the government should first weigh the definite and cost then decide what action it should taken to protect the language.
