【2017年版】美国Top50法学院LLM选校指南

我也是最近和一位职场前辈聊过以后才决定再继续读书。因为是法本毕业，自身也是很喜欢法律这门学科，并且目前也是在律所做着实习律师，以后可能也会继续走下去。所以还是希望能够学习一些和自己专业有关的东西。在决定是否读LLM的时候也考虑很多因素（自身的条件、读LLM对以后工作的用处等等），感觉在考虑读LLM以来，自己对以后的职业规划有了更深的想法和规划。
自己对申请美国大学的流程和时间表也是一头雾水，楼主的帖子很详细，真的很实用，谢谢。
想请问楼主，美国LLM大概是什么时候开放申请？先谢谢。

T6很少有LLM转JD的情况，T14中，UPenn、UV ...

另外Berkeley很变态，只要是美国的外校LLM，不接受转学，不接受advanced standing，也不接受直接申请L1。也就是说，沾了外校LLM就直接枪毙。

确实一般都是同转，异校转的具体例子我也没听说过，不过哥大的政策是可以异校转。但LLM又不许正常申请JD 1L，也就是说只许转学或者advanced standing（这似乎意味着没奖学金，我续后也问奖学金的事了，但它还没回信）。我不知道是不是我误解了它的意思，大家可以另外去信问一下核实。

For those who have earned an LL.M. degree from another ABA-accredited law school, a maximum of one year's advanced standing may be granted so that the Juris Doctor (J.D.) could be completed in less time than the usual three years.  In order to receive the J.D., all students must be in residence for two years of law study as a J.D. candidate.  Typically, students who have completed an LL.M. would take the first-year foundation courses along with the entering class and subsequently take advanced courses in the following year to complete the J.D. degree.   

Therefore, you would unfortunately be unable to apply for Regular Admission. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us.

关于LLM转JD，我写信问过哈佛招生办，回信是：

Thank you for your email. Unfortunately it is not possible to transfer from an LLM Program to our J.D. Program. All applicants to the J.D. program are considered for admission by the standard process. Harvard Law School does not offer any advanced standing, nor do we grant credit towards a J.D. from undergraduate classes.
