思路：
1. 对于大学生进行专业课知识以外的教育是有必要的，因为有很多发明发现是通过借助别的学科的技术和手段来达到的。同时也是能够为学生提供系统化的教育
2. 但是不分学校种类，不分学生承受能力的强制性的课外课程会带来许多问题学生可能没法接受或者在这样的课程中受益甚少。
3. 现在的大学专业是为了细分化学术领域而出现的，为了研究各种各样的问题现在的交叉学科等已经为解决这些问题提供了依据。不加选择的进行强制性课外课程选修是违反这样的学术原则的
4. 针对以上问题给出建议

Teach university students with courses outside their field of study is necessary and useful for that students could learn some extra course that can help them boarder minds and acquire method and ideas to solve problems in their own field. However, unconditionally demand every student to take a variety of courses may not suitable for a college student who usually has their own major.

There are many examples and precedent in science and technology that the application of new method in other subject leads to a revolutionary change in such subject. In this way, extra courses the scientific have learned are valuable and precious for the great changes have taken place after the mixture of different subjects. We should encourage college students to choose some elective course under the circumstance that they like and have the ability to really learn something.

But this advice overwhelm the fundamental statue for basic course or major course, a physics student could not rely on reading Shakespeare to guide make research, a literary student would also have difficulty in getting inspire in mathematical theorem. A compulsive courses outside the own field is a heavy burden rather than treasure for them. College students are almost adult that have their own rights to decide which courses is needed and which course many have little benefit to themselves.

College is aimed to cultivate students with specific knowledge in their own field while possess complete academic system. But not every college has the same target that the community college can be more pragmatic that teach student with the method to earn more money. Brilliant university required more strictly than the normal university do. We should not treat the university meanwhile college students merely a entirety that have no difference.

Some people insist that the learning of variety courses at college is one way to develop their potential interest in some subject. But what is the meaning of the gap year, does it take more than a year to find something he/she really like? That was absurd for a systemically built academic vague the limit between every major.

College now provided many kinds of studying field that students could try, and there are many cross-field subject such as bio-chemistry have be generate in order to suit the demand for the research in a detail way. So we needn't demand all biology student study chemistry so as to the variety of elective courses that useless at all.

As for the elective course, university would better provide the right of choose to the student. Only in this way, students could manage their own study and perform better in their future. In the place of knowledge freedom, university, student should be equally treated in order to form a democratic style in study.
