The best way to teach is to praise positive actions and ignore negative ones.
Write response in which you discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the recommendation and explain your reasoning for the position you take. In developing and supporting your position, describe specific circumstances in which adopting the recommendation would or would not be advantageous and explain how these examples shape your position.
The recommendation of a specific way ofteaching for the best one displays a tendency of praising instead of punishingon education. Surlythis way is proving effective in an enormous area of education. Students arewilling to learn as to get praised and daring to try without worrying aboutmistakes for which they will be criticized. However, this way of teaching canbe futile in many cases . For example, it is necessary for a gym teacher to disabusea gymnastics athlete's inaccurate movements which is difficult and evenimpossible for the athlete himself to find and improve. In addition, theignorance can be even harmful in some other cases. A teacher in a boardingschool will let the rebellious children mired in decadence and even crime if heor she ignore the wrongdoings committed by them. Adolescents are not mature inmind and thus unable to think for themselves thoroughly. Students obsesed bysome entertainments often have an incorrect attitude, which they considercorrect and unwilling to change, and sometime even do not consider any otherthing except certain entertainment. And this time for teacher to force them tostop the wrong things before they are mature enough to realize what is rightand wrong. In a word, under some circumstances this way of teaching is of nouse, not to say the best. Evenif we omit the deficiency of ignorance of negative actions, simply praising thepositive actions is not necessarily the best way of teaching. Though praisescan encourage students to learn, it is transitory and evanescent. Upon leavingthe teacher, the students more often than not lose the driving force to learn. A possible better butnot the best method to offset the drawback is to try to tell the students whatthey are taught and why they are taught these so as to give them interinspiration to learn. And there are also many other problems that need other teachingmethods to solve. Besides, not all actions can be distinguished precisely as positive or negative. A braveteenager fighting with the criminal directly was injured in the conflict. Is isproper for the teacher only praise his bravery and ignore the recklessness? Theanswer is obviously no. If the teacher does so, it is possible that in the nextconflict the brave teenager will lose his life. Everything has two sides, andan overly emphasis on the one of them will render severe consequences. I'mnot trying to deny the advantages of the kind of teaching. But any method willhave its limitation, and a good teacher should use diverse methods to satisfythe specific needs of each kind of teaching. Without knowing what kind ofbetter method will be contrived in the future, we can not say that any methodis the best.
