看了几所美国学校对于申请MLA的portfolio的要求，基本都差不多，大致上都要求A4 size，不能超过33x41cm, 但是对于页数好像都没有具体限制。

Harvard University:
Portfolio

Applicants to degree programs other than the Master in Urban Planning program must submit a portfolio that includes their most important and representative design and research work. Master in Urban Planning applicants do not need to submit a portfolio. The portfolio for Master in Design Studies and Doctor of Design applicants should consist of scholarly, academic, and/or professional work and may or may not include visual material, at the discretion of the applicant, and as related to the proposed research.

The GSD will not be responsible for lost or damaged portfolios. CONTENT Photographic or photostatic reproductions should show work in the visual arts or design executed by the applicant. Slides, CD’s or DVD’s are not acceptable. The work specifically should include examples of freehand drawings executed by the applicant.

Those applying for advanced placement in professional degree programs or for postprofessional degree programs are expected to submit examples of work demonstrating their ability to pursue study at an advanced level. Candidates seeking advanced placement in the MArch I program should review specific portfolio requirements listed in the Guidelines for Applicants to Master in Architecture– Advanced Placement.

All work submitted must be securely bound; the preferred dimensions are 8 1/2" x 11" and should not exceed 13" or 16" x 2".

IDENTIFICATION
The front of the portfolio must have the applicant’s name, the college or university from which he or she received the bachelor’s and/or master’s degree, and the degree program to which he or she is applying. In addition, the applicant’s name, date of project, and a statement of whether the project was academic, office-elated, or personal should be included on each page. In the case of collaborative work, the contribution by the applicant must be described precisely.

Please note that portfolios will NOT be returned.

University of Washington
Portfolio:
The portfolio should be a collection of material indicating your creative capabilities, graphic proficiency, and aesthetic and environmental sensitivity. It could include: photographs, photostats or other reproductions of work done by the applicant. No original documents should be submitted: the Department cannot be responsible for portfolio materials.
These exhibits may be products from crafts, design studios, professional work, creative or informational writing, or any other material which indicates your professional potential. Briefly explain each exhibit with a clear indication of your contribution when the exhibit includes a team project. The portfolio must be contained within an 8 1/2" by 11" folder or binder. Do not send slides, video tapes or CD's. If you have a website, print it out and include with portfolio.
Portfolios with return postage or stamped envelopes will be returned four weeks from notification of accept/deny unless specifically requested by the applicant. All unclaimed portfolios will be retained for one calendar year.

University of Georgia
Applicants with prior training or experience in landscape architecture or another design field must submit a design portfolio. There are no restrictions on portfolio format; we request only that material be neat and easy to read. Slides and digital portfoilios are discouraged. If you wish us to return the portfolio by mail, you must enclose an appropriately stamped, self-addressed envelope.

University of Minnesota
Submission of a portfolio is required for admission to th accelerated BED program.
Requirements

The portfolio should be presented in an 8.5 x 11 format. Portfolios larger than 24 x 36 inches will not be accepted. Loose materials will not be accepted.

Slides must be submitted in 8.5 x 11-inch transparent slide carrier pages.

Submit all materials by 15 January 2009. Notifications of acceptance are made by mid-March.

Identify your portfolio with your name and contact information. Portfolios will be returned only if a self-addressed mailer and sufficient postage is included.
