Issue112: Some educational systems emphasize the development of students’ capacity for reasoning and logical thinking, but students would benefit more from an education that also taught them to explore their own emotions.

In the modern society, some education systems consider the development of students' ability of reasoning and logical thinking as a much more important thing. From my perspective, I concur with the assertion that emotion education can also play an important role in nowadays, and both logical education and emotion education can impact on students' developing.

At the beginning, logical education can culture students' reasoning realization so that students should accept this kind of education. Firstly, reasoning realization is very important for some kind of professions. If students adopt well in logical thinking, then it will do a good for them if they want to choose a career like police, detector, which need logical thinking much. When watching Holmes, a series about how a detector named Holmes, we would be astonished by his capacity for reasoning and logical thinking. With his outstanding reasoning ability, the detector solved a lot of cases.
Secondly, when learning, students need logical education. For example, learning mathematics, physics. Without logical thinking, we cannot infer a theory. Hence, students should accept logical education.

Emotion education is also important to students. Firstly, emotion education can help students to understand arts better, such as paintings, music. Paintings and music can express authors' emotion directly. When watching Sunflowers, drawn by Van Gogh, a talented painter, we can feel the author's feeling of never giving up which can also encourage us deeply. When listening to Edmund, composed by Beethoven, we can feel happy when the hope was lighted up, and sad when Edmund was arrested. Secondly, emotion education can enhance students the ability to bear the sufferings. We always heard that a student died because of failed in love with somebody. If a student has accepted emotion education, then so many dramas will not be happened. Therefore, emotion education is very important to students.

Last but not least, education systems should emphasize both of logical and emotional education, rather to either of them. On one hand, if there is only logical education, then students will become dull, such as Sheldon in The Big Bang Theory, a popular America series. He is the typical sample who has high IQ, but little EQ. He can compute a calculus formula quickly, but when he faces love issues, he becomes an idiot. On the other hand, only emotional education exists will also cause social problems. There will have no one to do some kinds of jobs which accent reasoning thinking.
Then maybe thieves, robbers, killers are everywhere. So the society will become a mass, and cannot be developed comprehensively. In short, both logical and emotional education plays an important part in students' education.

Based on what have discussed, we should balance logical education and emotional education. Both of them are very important, without one of them, there will lead to many social problems.

There is a heat discussion about how to distribute our educational resources. Should we put more on the development of students' capacity for reasoning and logical thinking or should we emphasize on the exploration students' emotions? In my opinion, since cogitative thinking and emotional expression are both important to students' development, our education system should pay more attention to both of them.

In the first place, cogitative thinking is important to the students, no matter for the present learning in school or for the future work in the society. On the one hand, it is the reasoning and logical thinking that upon which we depend to gain our knowledge. In the scientific realm, there is no denying the fact that critical and logical thinking do a lot help for students to master those knowledge for the reason that knowledge in this fields can be understood only though the accurate calculation and not be changed according to ones emotions. Even in the art realm  where the creations need more individual feelings, cogitative thinking is also needed. The author who wants to write a detective novel must have the ability of logical thinking. On the other hand, when the students graduate and want to find a job, those with the critical and logical thinking can receive an offer more easily since they can use those abilities to find problems, solve them and make contributions to the company which employs them. All in all, critical and logical thinking provides students with the abilities of making new improvement.

In the second place, the exploration of emotions is also indispensable for students healthy development. If cogitative thinking is the objective aspect of human, the developing of emotion is the subjective aspect of human. It give us the emotions such as compassion, empathy, sympathy and indignation; it makes us feel sad or happy; it tells us to treat others politely. In a word, it is the emotion that makes us distinct from the machines. By teaching students how to explore emotions, they can learn how to communicate with others more effectively. They would learn to respect others and; they would learn to treat the different attitudes with tolerance; they would also learn to cooperate with others. However, undue emphasis on the exploration of our emotions can have adverse effects. This makes us more impulsive so that we cannot consider things at a comprehensive level, which would ultimately result in some tragedies. In short, an appropriate exploration of emotions is good for the students' development.

Finally, striking a balance between the development of reasoning and logical thinking and the exploration of emotions is the best way to impel the development of students. If the future lives of students in society is a car, the cogitative thinking makes students able to drive the car while the exploration of emotions is the key of the car. In other words, critical and logical thinking equips students with abilities to do real work and exploration of emotions makes students able to communicate with others effectively which is prerequisite for getting the job. So only with those two capacities fully developed can students be eligible members to our society.

To sum up, both the critical thinking and exploration of emotion are essential for the students' development, it is the obligation of our education system to keep these two aspects available for students. What's more, we should also conduct our students to develop from both of these to aspects.
