According to the Wiki,Leader is the one who give us advise about the method we should take to fulfill the social goals or personal goal,thus he must act as an exemplary role in the process of pursuing those goals. hence, from my personal perspective,To be an effective leader, a public official must maintain the highest ethical and moral standards.

Nowadays,under the circumstance of globalization,the competition has reached every aspect of our daily life and even every where of the whole world. Nonetheless,high moral standards is still the key to the success,no matter who we are and what are our occupations --such as politics,business or science. Can you imagine what would happen to a country,which is under the lead of one with low moral standards? Let us take the Germany under rule of Hitler as an example. Millions of people lost their life just for the greedy leader`s dream who aiming at wiping out the jews--the so-called subhuman-- and establishing a country that ruling all the Europe,even the world. Looking back at the history,we sacrificed so much in exchange for the lesson that never let a person like Hitler rule a country. Additionally, please think about the Watergate scandle--if Nixon succeed in the campaign of election,what a huge damage he would bring to the democracy of USA. However, when people talking about Mahatma Gandhi,word like this come into our mind quickly:honesty. Thus the high moral stand is a key to the success of a politician.

turning to the business science realm. We are in a fierce competition environment,which need us to pay more attention to the moral standards. For example,when eating the food,drinking the coca-cola will you concerns about the quality of the food or the drink? Of course,we will. The company always want to get a big share of the market,however,the goal sometimes needs the companies to take some measures which sounds not so good for the customers--low price is very attractive to the customer,thus the food giants take food materials with low quality or even add chemicals which are harmful to our health. Please look at the fast food industry,for instance the KFC,Mcdonald. It is them who bring us so many social issues such as fat children in our countries. Also, take TOYOTA as another example. I believe every driver wish to switch his or her TOYOTA to another car,even a second hand FORD. The science realm faces the same situation. For instance,even we a ready in techniques,we cannot start a human cloning project.

Finally,as the member of the society,we should keep a high moral level,which may benefit our life even the next generation ,even though we are not the leaders. To be specific. Global warming is harming our earth as well as our life. Nonetheless,despite the potential disaster the global warming will bring,many people still buy cars which can produce a lot of CO2 or damage the forests. Surely,we do not have the ability to change the value of whole society,but we can change ourselves,by means of planting more trees or buying a smaller car which can produce less co2 emission.

All in all,  the claim that To be an effective leader, a public official must maintain the highest ethical and moral standards is acceptable.  Not only Politic,business and science,but all realms of our society need the leader to be with high moral levels. Besides,as a member of the society,we should also get high moral level to make our world more harmonious.
