What should we put emphasis on when looking back our history, the one congruent with our daily life, or the passed story that only written in literatures thus makes no sense to our temporary living style. the issue is an ever complex and controversial one that has not reached to a satisfied conclusion. From I am standing, I disagree with the speaker that the only value lies in history is that relevant to our daily life, I admit these types of history can do contribute to our progress and development, however, I believe it is not the whole.

Admittedly, many people find values of studying history for the reason that it can provide inspirations and guidance to our daily life. Through the stories that recorded in literatures which bring methods and approaches that used by our ancestors can we expedite the process of daily affairs because we do not have the need to choose which option is better or wiser as our history has provided ample examples to us. For example, we can utilize the Edison's famous inventions such as light and telephone in our daily life because in the history they are invented indeed, trying to study on the issue without referring to the history must be a futile effort. As Newton's saying, 'If I have been able to see further, it was only because I stood on the shoulders of giants'. The world and us human beings can not development healthy and sustainably without these accumulations made by our forefathers

However, It can not be extrapolated that only history that congruent with our daily life and need, the spirit and internal character of historic famous person should also be accentuated in the way to realizing our dream. With the development of science and the ever changing life style, the way people behave is extremely different from that in the past, many experiences that may take effect seems useless nowadays ostensibly. Albeit these changes, the spirit and the method they use to achieve success should still be learned and utilized by people nowadays, even more important than the inventions or the approaches they worked out. The story of Copernicus teaches us be brave enough to skepticize the authority and established boundary in the fields. Darwin abandoned his study of medical so that created the famous theory ' The Origin of Species', from which we can get the idea that individual interests is the best teacher and can pushes one to tremendous achievements. I believe that these achieves and leaps in their fields Copernicus and Darwin bring can be useless to the daily life of majority, however, from their stories, inspirations they bring us should be able and suitable to all the fields.

Moreover, not only the famous and successful persons in the history who we can learn from, but also the ones who result in failure, or even those who considered to be notorious, should we study on them. If saying the famous people can direct us which way to go, on the contrary, those notorious people in history let us know which should not . Only by looking into the both sides of history can one get a comprehensive understanding and hence make sensible decisions.

All in all, looking into the history that related with daily life can one have the opportunities and the basis to make a wise choice, however, a more crucial point to concern is the spirit and inspirations we can obtain from these historic people thus making people more sensible when making decisions.
