Whether the way people look, dress and act is a mirror image of their attitudes and interests, which can furthermore reverberate the society’s original ideas and values? For my perspective, with the progress of science and technology, literary and artistic development, people’s outlook on life and values are undergoing subtle evolution. In view of its inevitability in each society, we can perceive that hundreds or even thousands years of traditional culture modification has never been diluted by the long span of time, on the contrary, every little change is much like sediment in general, accumulated down, little cell-by-cell. Therefore comes to the formation of this piece of the region’s unique social atmosphere, which reflects directly about the society’s ideas and values. And these ideologies can be echoed by the long-term residents’ attitudes and interests, which are mainly divulged by their appearance, dress and act. Thus, I fundamentally agree with the speaker’s assertion with a slightest suspicion of its absoluteness.

The preference in dressing effectively mirrors people’s aesthetic values and inclinations which are determined by the personality. Ensamples are numerous in illustrating the posture. To name a few, Chinese people would like a former wear under most circumstances in order to show their sobriety and moderation; American jeans wearers prefer pursuing the enjoyment of neat ,convenience and extrovert racial characters; the French, who are prestigious for their romantic dispositions, have their dressings an impressive explicit way of expressing love; and Arabia, in which males wear in white aba, while females use head cloth and black gauze to shelter face, displays a faith in Islam throughout the country. Judging from these aspects, we could indicate that personality is able to be inclined by dressing.

In the second place, the style people pondering and behavior, refracts their ideologies and conceptions on values. As it is a commonsense that people’s most natural movements and activities are, more often than not, related with their visceral monologue/impulses. Still illustrate it with examples: Americans would constantly like to behave remarkable in order to get more encourage and reward which represents the idea of no pains no gains, while at the same time, Chinese children are often given guidance to be modest and prudent, which are traditional virtues in China, when communicate or work with each other; and in Japan, the spirit of bushido, which is annotated by firmness, tolerance and tenaciousness, is widely promoted among everyday life and ordinary dealings. Thus, we can come to the conclusion that action and thinking modes could directly shine upon the radical approaches and tastes.

Further more, habits, rituals, festivals and lifestyles of a culture, which are chiefly and gradually taking shape in our mind through the apperception on the appearance and behavior of the people reside in the community, are always provide accurate signals about its values. For instance, in the traditional Spring Festival, Chinese people are wearing bright-colored and beautiful clothes with gorgeous smiling hang on faces to deliver that a contented mind is greatest blessing along with a mentality of placing glorious wishes on the following year; In the process of the Arabian prostrating themselves in Islam, they wear with ceremonial usage in white aba or head cloth to show reverence, which demonstrates their beliefs that all political power gender from Allah, every citizens has the right to participated in deciding national policy. These examples vividly expound the live and fresh expression of people’s deeds refreshing on the social value perceptions.

However, the function of people’s exterior appearances and movements are normally limited to a shallow level. In other words, these presentations, to certain extent, might sometimes be equipped with a sham mask which might belie the extant realities of the social values. Paragons such as spies in the nation, who share impure motivations, or the group of people who are far too conservation, come immediately to mind.
