"Students should bring a certain skepticismto whatever they study. They should question what they are taught instead of accepting it passively."



  Sitting properly in the class,listening to the teacher,repeating what the teacher told us for memory and doing exercise over and over again for knowing the concept well is the necessary process of our Chinese students from primary school.So far as I know,this way of education is so passive that students will lose the interest of learning and master skills slowly.Inversely,student who is taught to think critically and call in question is an active and high-effective learner.That is to say,bring a certain skepticism to what they learn sometimes is a valid way for education.However,redundant doubt is just a waste of time and energy and may cause a series of worries and misgivings.



  As an old saying goes,Learning without thought is labour lost.That means,think is to learning what blade is to sword.The sword without blade is a futile one which can not defeat your opponents,Just as learning without thinking is to the achievement.Be skeptical for what you learn is a result of reflection.The question you come up with may unconsciously lead your lore and thought to a brand-new level.Additionally,one of usual means that causing your study interests is displaying great initiative in it.In a word,thinking suspicious is a way of enriching knowledge and exciting interests.  


What's more,skeptical thinking will help us break the restraint of mind set and establish the awareness of creation.On the day of the high development of technology and science,creation is the most essential part of expand.Only thinking deeply and suspicious can you find what is unthought-of and ignorant by predecessors and make several improvements on it.That is the process of creating a creation.And,if you Stick to the old rules , adhere to the old habits and thinking superficially,you will never discover any new situation or shortcoming to overcoming.That is to say,the creation will never be born at all.


  From the foregoing,as a student,we should think deeply and raise questions;as a teacher to encourage students develop critical thinking is a pressing task,especially for our Chinese students. However,there is a extent that you can suspect.As everything has its limits,to be suspicious does not mean you should take a sceptical attitude to whatever you have learnt.Does it have significant meaning to challenge why 1+1=2 or why water is called water?Of course not.Generally speaking,there is a number of knowledge that is the foundation of our acquaintance and common sense such as the decimal system,a way that people invent for counting. It is obviously a waste of time and energy to tangle these purposeless muddle.
Besides,a person who spoil his head by thinking nonsense may annoy others for his nervous temperament.Moreover,the purpose of skepticism that student should bring is to effectively master the knowledge and have their own opinions of the world.Too much suspicion add no assistance for the terminal objective.


In sum,the ability of thinking suspiciously is an indispensable part of our education.Thus,we should bring a certain skepticism in place and question what they are taught instead of accepting it passively.
