In this era of rapid social andtechnological change leading to increasing life complexity and challenging globalcircumstances, both immediate problems of today and the anticipated problems ofthe future call for a balance that both problems should be taken intoconsideration as human encounters with now and then.
Admittedly, as the society is rapidlychanging, we should recognize merits human has already obtained, at the sametime it is crucial to solve immediate problems that are happening here andthere in the globe. It is the very foundation to guarantee the society keepadvancing by ensuring the stability and harmony of the globe, as many governorshave reached in various summits around the world. On one hand, as in the world, the majority of countries are in the process of developing, many of them havein varying of social problems, which plays an obstacle that hampers the worldfrom advancing. Such as terrorism which constantly happens in the world. Sincethe terrifying incident of 9.11 in America, many different countries haveallied together in order to bring peace and justice to the world. The cooperationon protecting ships from the attack of Somali pirates among military forcesfrom different countries have shown the advantage and merits which is owing tothe collective benefits regardless of prejudice among countries. On the otherhand, many countries, especially in African countries which are still at theprimary process of developing country, they still suffer from poverty, famine, diseases that will cost years to overcome. These social problems are the mosturgent issues on which the government should pay attention.
However, we people who live today, to someextent are as well victims due to the lack of consideration for the nextgeneration of our precedents, is because that they had not taken much considerationinto account to anticipate possible problems that would happen in the future,in which we are now living in. In consequences that is a part of the reason whywe are suffering from various problems today: air pollution, damage of theenvironment, overpopulation, etc. Since the Industrial Revolution, human hasgained huge progress in the development of technology and science. Factories,
built in everywhere of the world, areoperating on full speed in order to generate wealth for the minority at thecost of a healthy and clean air for the majority. People cut down the forestswhich have been benefiting everyone on the earth and thus been called "thelung of the Earth", in order to meet the demand of food scarcity of anincreasingly overpopulated generation. That is all due to ignorance of theanticipated problems of the future.
In addition, we should make preparation toencounter with sufficient and effective methods for the purpose of solvingtoday and future's problem, and as well for the merits and a comfortable lifefor the future generations. Since we are still not able to solve problems likesome fatal and miserable disease, environmental pollution, shortage of naturalresources, etc., we should set a foundation such as experiments and necessarydata for further research. In the reason of decreasing natural resource, suchas coal, petroleum, metal mine, scientists are working on the development ofnew and renewable sources of energy, such as solar energy, bio-energy and so onin order to solve the energy problem to which both we current time and the futuregeneration will face.
Without solving immediate problems oftoday, society will be stuck in a slough of misery in the process ofdevelopment. Without a society that have a foresight of the anticipatedproblems that would happen in the future, our human beings will have no futureto hope. Thus, while our attentions on solving the immediate social problem, considerations for the sake of future generation are necessitated. |
