In different fields in modern society, whether it is necessary to have data before one could make a theory depends on the specific occasion. However, we should not fotget to notice other grave mistakes when theorizing.


In scientific research fields, making a theory without sufficient data support is dangeous and could be catastrophy. Since science works based on this physical world where imagination do not work. All the results of research should be accordence to the laws of nature and the precipals of the universe. For instance, without carfully experiments on certain medicine and supporting of the data which indicates its effective function, no one could guarantee the medicine will cure the patient and won't instead killing him/her. In a not dissimilar way,  data plays a fundamental role in business field , academic world, industries and even on the battle field during war time. Statistics, as an example, is the base of company's selling stratagies by which the manger suppose to make more profits. When prodoce automabiles, the factory should first design the model from collected data and make sure this model will work in real production.


However, sometimes we make our theory without data. Life experience is a totally different field in which people generate their ideas and opnions of the world only according to their own experience. Experience, however, should not be treated as data since people don't count the number they go out to eat or the mesure the distance between their home to the workplace. What people do is combining their emotion and memory together and theorize the suitable theory they think. One example is lessons that our parrents learn from their experience and often try to teach us for avoiding the same mistakes. Another solid argument for this point is that the thoughts that authors and artists try to express in their novels or paintings that reveal the truth of life and the meaning behind the  world's surface. All these theorizing need no data and could actually work well in people's viewpoints.


Moreover, referring from data is one element of theorizing, ignoring other factors could also making grave mistakes. One important element is keeping objective and not emotional involved. Some scientists missed thier achievments because they starbornly disagree with some actually correct theories due to their personal prejudice. Besides, we also need the scientific methor of theorizing since that's the best way with making the fewest mistakes. A manager of a company can hardly propose any effective stratagy without popper method of handling the data collected from markets.


Summing up, different fields have distinct requirments about theorizing. Some of them demand for the support of data while others need not. Furthermore, to gain a effective and correct treory, one should also notice the scientific method of theorizing and keeping objective.
