Education，a learning process that people obtained knowledge step by step，will be effective at a certain extent through meeting the individual needs and interests of each students. However, achieving truly effective education has a long way to go and needs the help not only from the teachers and students, but also from the society, and not mention the only individual needs and interests.

A one important respect I agree with the speaker’s contention is that the individual needs and interests of each student is indeed a necessary things for an effective education. As a common sense, teaching according with individual needs and interests is the elementary principle of the learning process. People always take the treatment as an example for the cure only is effective because of the right medicine and the education is a similar thing. Furthermore, we cannot deny that attaching importance to the individual needs and interests of each student is the responsibility of the school. Schools develop many interest classes and optional classes to help students to find and develop their interests and needs, which will make a difference for their learning process. Besides, from the students’ perspective, knowing much more about the needs and interests of themselves is a better way to understand their advantages and disadvantages, helping them to create the personal potentiality and develop the personality. In short, when the education designed to meet individual interests and need, it will not only good for the students but also the teachers and schools.

However, the only needs and interests of students are far from enough for the effective education. At first, we must define the “effective education”. Effective education is a long process and after it the students would master what they have learned skillfully and could apply it in their life. That definition will call for a development in all-around in education unquestionably. In order to achieve effective education and an all-round development, we should consider from three angles. First, from the teachers’ angle, besides knowing about individual needs and interests of students mentioned above, we cannot ignore such necessary matters as the teaching environment, lecture skill, the ability and enthusiasm of the teacher, the interaction between teacher and students, advance teaching equipment and facilities, and so forth. Without taking every thing into consideration, we cannot draw a conclusion that the education is effective. In addition, the angle from the students themselves is a crucial respect we cannot neglect. Can the students do not learn some subjects they really do not like but actually be useful and elementary? If the answer is yes, unfortunately this is not an effective education and can never ever be an effective one. What’s more, the decision of the society nowadays, such as the financially aid also determines the education’s effectiveness.

Other respects should being pay attention is that if we have abilities to make the education meet the every one’s need and interest. Without doubt, knowing the individual needs and interests of each one is hard to achieve because the needs and interests are variable and changeable. Actually, the resource is limited for meeting the needs and interests. And never mention that some needs and interests can only be found by the students themselves.

In sum, we cannot attribute the truly effective education only to meeting the individual interests and needs of each student and neglect other factors.
