Everyone is concerned about his own reputations, but the earnest reformers, who are trying to make the society better, are willing to be viewed with disdain by the rest of the world.

It is apparent that everyone is concerned with his reputation. When god created man, he assigns seven sins to us, and one of them is vanity. It is human nature that we are concerned about our appearance, since we want to be called beautiful or handsome, and we also focus on our reputation, since we need the satisfaction to be seen as a good person. In addition, as we are living in the society, rather than living isolated, we need to be accepted by others to satisfy our inner perception of affiliation, and reputation gives others the impression about you.

A good reputation helps you build the right road to success. When you are shopping with enough money, you prefer those with good brand, because a good brand means good quality. In a competitive society, everyone is promoting himself, to make ourselves preferred to, to make ourselves marked with a good brand. Reputation is like a brand marked on everyone, the characteristic like honesty and integrity brings you the benefits of being valued and appreciated, and that’s what makes your achieving success easier.

When a man is attempting to reform, it is inevitable that his reputation is to be hurt, but a real reformer will set his reputations aside. A man who is to reform is a man who has the valor to face the unfairness in the society and make a change. However, the actions conflicting with the interest of the cabals will bring the harms to the reformers reputation as a revenge, and the public often do not have the providence to see a better society the reform is to bring. However, a devoted reformer is not the one that only cares about himself. As the great writer Lu Xun has ever said:” A real hero is the one that has the valor to face the dark reality and the courage to face the blood of sacrifice. “Mr. Deng Xiaoping, the great reformer, came through the doubts of revisionism and overcame the suspicion of the public, only to realize his picture of a prospecting China, and his endeavors has brought China to the focus of the world stage again. Martin Luther King, a man who was devoted to racial equality, suffering from the danger of being attacked and arrested, led the blacks to pursue their born rights, and his devotions has brought the US a real equality of all races.

All in all,a devoted reformer is a real hero that ignores his reputation.he is not the one that limits his perspective to himself. He has the people’s interest in his heart, the dream to break the darkness and rise the dawn, the courage to face the concomitant libels and reprobation, the endurance to be rejected or misconceived by the public, and the perseverance to overcome the difficulties on his road and achieve his self-realization.
