Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? do you think people should buy things made in their own country, even the price is higher than same things made somewhere else？

Buying things is an integral part of life. Several factors will be taken into account when people choose the product, such as quality, price, brand, manufacturer, and so forth. Some argue that people should buy things made in their own country, even when the price is higher than the same things made somewhere else. However, I do not agree with it and here are my reasons.

It is said that those who purchasing goods made in their own country are patriotic. From my own perspective, however, this act has little to do with patriotism but provincialism. With the prevalent of globalization, it is common that several countries are involved in the production of a certain commodity. Take the product of Apple company iphone as an example. Engineers in California, U.S. are responsible for the design of the phone; The LCD panels are provided by Sumsung, a Korean company; finally, different parts are assembled in China. In this case, it is hard to identify clearly where the iphone is made. Without doubt, all countries involved in the product chain all benefit from the selling of iphones.

Moreover, it will bring side effects to the local company when it is totally relying on the local people. With stable customers and sale channels, companies are reluctant to make innovations or improve their products and services. As (a) result, customers can not benefit from the company but rather suffering from the high prices and unsatisfactory products. It is hard for me to imagine that most people will sacrifice their own interests to rescue a company just because it is a company of their country. Obviously, the support from the local people will not last long when better substitutes are available. Surely, these incompetent companies cannot survive in the fierce competition with foreign companies and will be eliminated in the long run.

Finally, this is a democratic society, and people are free to choose what they want to buy. To most customers, products with high quality and lower prices are always preferred regardless of the producing area. It is illegal to force customers to purchase things of their own country under the cover of patriotism.

Watching TV is fun to children. It is natural that most children prefer TV programs to homework and assignments. To help them do well at school, I totally agree with the statement that parents should limit the time they spend on TV.

It is said that TV is poisonous to children, because they have little self-control. Children are very likely to be indulged in the fascinating TV programs like cartoons and TV series, thus in turn their time and effort left to(for) their school work will sharply decrease, which directly affect their school performance. Moreover, long-time watching TV is not only bad for their eyes, but also makes them feel exhausted(for their entire bodies因为接下来论证的并不是看完电视有多筋疲力尽，而是对全身的损害). Lying on the couch or bed with chips and coke though seems comfortable at first; however, they will（are more likely to,原来的语气太确定了我觉得）
have neck and waist hurt（problems） and unnecessary weight gain after a period. Without a clear mind and a healthy energetic body, they can hardly follow their teacher or actively participate in group the(去掉) discussions, let alone（all study by themselves to,原来的说法有点奇怪，欢迎交流） achieve high performance in the final exams.

Furthermore, study seems to be hard and tedious when is(去掉) compared with the appealing TV programs. Fostering students’ learning interests and learning habits is a long and important process that needs the cooperation between parents and teachers. There is no doubt that the great effort of teachers will（would）
go down the drain if children are obsessed with TV programs after school without the interference of their parents. Limiting the time children watching TV is parents’ indispensable duty. The music star Modonna does not allow her daughter Lola to watch TV, because she wants to train her imagination and language skills. She feels proud that Lola always chooses a book as an entertainment and never looks at TV set longingly.

Obviously, learning is much more crucial to children’s further development than watching TV. Parents need to limit the time their children spend on it. Meanwhile, parents should also（去掉，跟前面的meanwhile意思重复了）
guide them choosing the programs to watch and make sure they are not addicted to it.

Should we take a secure job immediately when finding one? A large amount of people would strongly say yes, because it is difficult to find a job when economy is in recession. Others may disagree with that, for one cannot be happy with（把with改成works for是不是更好一点？） an unsatisfactory job. From my own perspective, the answer varies according to people’s different needs.

The unemployment rate is still very high due to the economic crisis. It is reported that a certain amount of new graduates fail to find jobs each year in China. For most of them, I think taking a secure job immediately when finding one is a wise choice, because usually they are not the ideal talents that most companies are seeking.(我总觉得这个one有点别扭但又说不出为什么，原谅我啦，水平不是很高，你自己在问问别人。) Obviously, companies prefer experienced workers rather than new inexperienced graduates (加一个无经验句子丰满一些), because if they employ new graduates they still need to invest in large amount of time and money for the training process.（这一句被我改动了，你看一看有没有语法错误，我语法不好） Furthermore, it is regarded that veterans are more loyal to the company than the new ones, since job-hopping more frequently occurs among young employees. Hence, it is more difficult for the young graduates to find a job, and they need to cherish the offered working opportunities. With skills and experiences, they will be provided more opportunities in future.（这一句我觉得应该加：“在工作了一定的时间后，积累了一定的经验，他们在将来的择业中会有更多的机会。”因为老外的思维和咱们的不一样，必须的说因为。。。。所以。。。。， 。。。。然后。。。。。类似的话）

On the other hand, to those competent job seekers who desire to achieve their dreams, a satisfying job counts for much more than a secure one. My friend Luis, a proficient software programmer quit his job in IBM, because he could not feel passion any more when working there. Instead, he spent several months at home preparing for Google’s interview, a company aiming at innovation and changing the world. He is now enjoying his work at Google. The inclusive working environment,（是“什么都包括了的工作环境”的意思吗？）the tasty food, various entertainments and the challenging tasks make him full of energy and eager to work every day. However, declining offers and waiting for a satisfying one is not easy but rather painful. Some even doubt whether the previous decision was correct or even regret about that. Following one’s heart is important, but you should make sure you are prepared for the unexpected obstacles and pressure.

In sum, career is an indispensable part of life. Before making career decision, you need to analyze our strength and weakness as well as consult your friends and experienced workers. No matter what decision you make, confidently face it.
