Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Advertising is the main cause of unhealthy eating habits？

It is has aroused wide attentions that unhealthy eating habits are now badly affecting our daily life. But what is the main cause of it? The advertisement, the fast food companies like KFC and McDonald’s, or the stressful and fast paced working environment? From my own perspective, though many factors give rise to the unhealthy eating habit, advertising is the main cause.

First of all, it is advertising that makes the unhealthy food known to all. Our daily lives are inundated with the fascinating fast food advertisements. For instance, TV channels and radio channels have a large number of commercial breaks, even when the target audiences of the channel are mainly children. The advertisement often advocates the idea that it is cool to be the first to try the new product, which will draw people to buy the food immediately.

Second, the aim of advertising is to draw people’s attention and attract as many customers as possible. To achieve this goal, most advertisements will not disclose the side(我觉得还是换成negative，因为后面有个 advantage) effects of the products, but emphasize or even exaggerate its advantages. For example, the advertisement of burgers and crisps（薯条french fries） usually emphasize three things: the extraordinary taste, the inexpensive price and most importantly, the various nutrients the food contains. Nothing about the trans fats or other unhealthy ingredients is mentioned in the advertisement. Though there are some tips or tables showing the contents on the wrapper, but most consumers obsessed with these kinds of food lack the knowledge of nutrition or just ignore them, thus they are unaware of the bad effects.

Besides TV and printing advertisings, sending small toys to children and teenagers is another popular way adopted by many food companies which will(我说不准，是不是要用would?) do more harm to the （younger）customers. My neighbor, a five years old boy, is a McDonald’s happy meal fan. Whenever he discovered the sign of the big M, he will become very excited and ask his parents to buy the happy meal for him, because he wants to collect all the happy meal toys. Though his mother has told him many times that organic food is more nutritious, the little boy cannot control himself and continue buying it.

Advertising is powerful. To keep a healthy eating habit, we need to be aware of it(有点模糊) instead of following it.   

有些词用的非常好，比如inundated，值得我学习，文章写的很有条理,例子很恰当～  改的地方，我的水平有限，不知道改得对不对：）

The passage provides three measures to stop the spread of the cane toad in Australia. However, the speaker indicates that these measures will not be effective or even do harm to the environment.

First of all, the speaker disagrees with the idea that a national fence can prevent the spread of the toad. It is cannot be effective, since young toads and toad eggs live in the rivers and streams and can be easily flowed from one place to another, though this approach has been successfully used before as the passage mentions. 文中没有直接说这种方法对cane toad 有效吧？

Second, the speaker admits that the volunteers can successfully capture the cane toads, whereas they can also damage the environment. Since most of the volunteers are untrained, it will be difficult for them to distinguish the cane toad from the native one especially when they are both young. The decrease of the native toads can badly affect the environment.

Finally, the speaker claims that using the disease-causing virus to control the cane toad population can even devastate the ecosystem of America. There are many communications between the Australian and American researchers and some Australian animals are transferred (transported) to U.S for scientific research. This virus can be brought to U.S. with animals which will cause the decrease of the population of the cane toad in U.S. However, as a native species in U.S., this decrease will badly affect many other species related to the toad, thus harm the whole ecosystem.
