Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Young people should try different jobs before they decide which job or career they will do in the long term

Do we young people need to try different jobs to decide the one we will do in the long term? The answer varies to different people. For those who clearly know their dreams and the things they are passionate about, there is no need to try different jobs but follow their heart and start their career. However, there are also a certain amount of people who have no idea about their future career, trying several jobs is definitely a good way to help them find the one they love.

Some young people are often uncertain about their future. Trying different jobs is beneficial for them to know their strengths and weaknesses. It is true that many jobs are totally different from what we imagine. It usually turns out that a seemingly decent job may not suit us at all. We need to try different jobs and find the one we are passionate about. My friend Ben studies finance in college and his aim at that time was to be an exceptional banker in Wall Street. With the excellent academic performance and internship experience, he got an ideal offer from a famous investment bank in Hong Kong. To my surprise, he quit his job after working there for two years due to the unbearable workload and pressure. He has decided to take a vacation for two months and try something new after that.

While to those young people who are conscious about their dreams and have the determination to change the world into a better place, the best way is to start their work as soon as possible, since timing is crucial to the success. Taking Bill Gates for example. He dropped out of Harvard University, the dream school of many high school students, and established a software company in 1970s. His goal that to(?可以这么用吗) let everyone have a personal computer was definitely clear and right for the time. The success of Microsoft and other giant companies in (the) IT industry like Google and Facebook is a great impetus to the young generation. The startups with new graduates as the founders mushroom in recent years, and some of my best friends with proficient IT skills join these small firms to start their career as quickly as possible.

In sum, trying different jobs is helpful and meaningful for the young generation when they are unclear about the future. It offers you opportunities to learn more about yourself, meet different people and build your social network which will greatly contribute to your future career. To those who have a definite plan of the future, there is no need to do that but follow your heart and seize the opportunities.
