What is going to be done with all thoseplants and animals facing extinction? While natural selection serves as arighteous reason to explain extinction of most species, the claim seems highlyacceptable that we should save our efforts. But in the long run, we could notsimply close our eyes to this situation. It would be our responsibility to savethose disappearing plants and animals to a certain extent.

Saving other species means protectingourselves. Actually, we could not live a life without those animals and plants.Though this sounds a cliché, it would be considerably right in theconsideration of our shared biosphere. We invariably gain resources from them. They are indispensible food resources that sustain our basic living. Still, they play significant roles in other fields: wood is made into our furniture;furs are served to free us from cold; flowers decorate our rooms and expressour emotions. Despite the fact that we have not yet known functions of mostspecies, we might know some day if they are kept from extinction. Moreresearches, have unveiled their marvelous functions that we have not knownbefore, such as the marvelous effect abrotanum gives on malaria. It is just along and expensive process, but this is one we must have. Once they are gone, they are leaving us forever.

Besides, to save them in other words equalsto save our culture. We have formed special intimacy of them in the long-termprocess of our civilization: they help to define our culture, in the form ofarchitecture styles, clothing patterns, or state totems. It would beunimaginable to think of an Australia without kangaroos, or an Netherlandwithout tulips. Those special symbols have so deeply rooted in our culture thatour brilliant culture would be ruined severely once they have gone.

In addition, researches have pointed outthat most types of extinction stem largely on human activities. It isundeniable that modern industry has greatly impacted on their habitual life andliving surroundings. We must responsible for that. While we try our greatesteffort to save them, we spend a lot of time, effort and money, but not in vain.In the process of protection, we clear the pollution, regain their habitats, and stop our killing. As a result, we enhance the environment of theirs as wellas our own. The benefits could be reciprocal.

Over all, we should try to save plants andanimals in great effort. They are our emotion companions, our inexhaustibleresources and culture support. The efforts and costs may be huge, but we aretrading for a better life for ourselves.

倒数第二段有大问题。

我还是不会写反驳...
