Topic: At universities and colleges, sports and social activities are just as important as classes and libraries andshould receive equal financial support.
No doubt that college is the bestplace where students acquire a wider knowledge of the field they would involvein. Classes afford “nourishments” and “nutrients”, meanwhile the libraries withmodern facilities serve as the places for studying. Then above are the essentialelements of colleges, should the sports and social activities be the neglectedparts?
Obviously the answer from any personis NO. Despite the undebatable role as a guide for the students’ career orprofession, colleges also act as fertile lands where students can express theirpersonalities and uniqueness through the sports and social activities, alsowhich will advance them.
Undoubtly after hardworking for along time, a break from the burden of studying will refresh the students. Theybecome healthier and more relaxed after the games of ping pong, billiard, football, etc. Sports energize them again. It’s not difficult to imagine whatthe physical body will be without enough exercises. We can always find somestudents drop out of colleges because of the unfitted physical conditions. Togetherwith sports, social activities could well help students release the pressurefrom the fierce competition. During my colleges, I have attended lots of campusand social activities, though which I met many new friends in different majors.I learned much from them, several of them I have kept intimacy with now.
It’s true that social activity is thebridge between colleges and society. A deeper understand of the society obtained from the activities helps students know better the currency of theworld, the field they will be occupied in. During the process, confidence, self-esteem,values towards life in the right direction, not found in their youth earlier,is truly established.
Above all the merits of sports andsocial activities, they should be posed equal attention and financial support, but the current condition is NOT. The college may have its own difficulties, whilethat is not the excuse. Not until the day the college realizes it has betrayedthe original principles does it begin to pay.
TPO2Topic: Always telling the truth is themost important consideration in any relationship between people.
Out of trust, People tend to believethe words from the person they daily contact with, especially their lovers, parents, workmates etc. Once they find cheat between their cherished relationships,a feeling of being hurted intertwines them and may lead mistrust. No doubt thattelling the truth is essential in maintaining good relationships.
Based on various reasons, sometimes “whitelies” may temporarily alleviate the tension between two people, for example,John went out with his female workmate for business matters but didn’t tell hisgirlfriend the truth, then the girlfriend got the information from others, inevitably there would be a quarrel between the couple, which usually happensto the lovers. The “white lies” finally induces greater trust crisis. What ifthe boy initially told the truth? I think the thing would go on in the rightdirection.
Once a first lie, then a second lieis needed to counteract, then another one, it seems endless, people is tired ofasking the question “are you serious about our relationship?” or distinguishingthe real words, at last the relationships game over.
Above truth is an indispensable partof a relationship. In this trust-oriented society, if the company shows itsproduct with fake and misleading advertisements, the buyers will eventuallydrop this merchandise, also the accountant not telling real or practicalstatistics will be fired by the corporation, not to say the cheat between theparents and the children, the lovers, the relatives, the intimated friends, Ithink the hurt brought by this is much deeper than just by being fired.
So telling truth will pay back more, not only out of consideration of benefits. No matter the information is good ornot, someday we will eventually face it. Truth is the only way to trust. It’snot the practical tool, it’s the real desire that we all want to retain awell-being relationship. |
