Different methods were used by our parents fromtime to time in order to make sure we can achieve their requirements. To begin with, it’s obvious that watching TV isone of the best ways for adults to kill time, but turn to children especiallywho is in their adolescence period, too much watching TV may be a disaster forboth their physical and mentally healthy which is(are? the) base if their want to do wellin school. For instance, according to some recent researches, children over 16who watches TV more than 2 hours a day risks twice the possibility to get eyediseases than those who watches(watch) less, exercises(exercise) more. Similarly, over-watchingTV usually goes with continuous eating junk food without realization, forchildren at growing age, which will definitely result in terrible overweightdamaging their healthy. Meanwhile, as we can see, the longer a childwatches TV the easier for him to be addicted. TV series are attractive andalways ended in a confusing way to cliffhang the audience and push them to keepon watching it unless it’s over. Once children(a child) abandoned in it, he will be thinkingabout the stories all the time, how can one focus on study if he is alwaysimaging the next serie and looking forward to watching it? And never makelittle of those countless unavoidable violence and sex scenes in TV and movies,children are very likely to imitate interesting things around them. I once watched a movie named “homeless to Harvard” which was based on a real story. I was deeply moved by the girl in it whose parents was addicted drunk and drugs and her mother was died for AIDs. College seems to be a word have nothing to do with her since she grown up in violence, poverty and homeless. However, she made it to Harvard due to her continuous endeavor and surprisingly help from the New York Times, far beyond everyone’s expectation. So, the belief that everyone should pursue his wildest dream no matter how unrealistic it is was deeply rooted in my mind

To begin with, I do agree that people should work or study all step by step to achieve realistic goal in every short-term plan, it’s undeniable that practice makes prefect and vice versa. However, turn to one’s life goal, I think one should only follow his dream because nobody knows what will happen in the future and “unrealistic’’ can become “realistic” in a moment, dreams of beyondness may be realized in the future. For instance, TV, computer, spacecraft, the Internet, etc. I’d rather be laughed at today than regret tomorrow. It is a gift from God to live in this colorful world and we should all cherish this tour instead of turning it to a pity. Never should one give up his dream because it is not realistic to the current society or environment around him.

What’s more, as we all know, creative progress the society in many ways. What can be more creative than a dream? I doubted it. It is just those dreams about TV, computer, outer space and consecutive efforts people made that turned our life into such a modern one. Obviously, it is probably the promotion generated in the process of pursuing some unbelievable goal that urged the society to gain great advance in many new areas which strongly benefited our daily life.

Nowadays, as we can see, team work has becamethe major way people use to solve problems in many different areas. Though teamwork, goals can be achieved in a more efficient and creative way. At the sametime, many characteristics can be reflected in the process of team work whichcan show some clues about the probability of him or her  to  be success in the future. Some people may hold the opinion that in a team, those who do not accept other’scriticism cannot succeed. I strongly agree with it.

To begin with, it is undoubtedly that the spirit of team work is collaboration.  In some degree, collaboration is usually based on mutual respect and trust at the same time resulting efficiency and fruitful. Unlike mathematics that one plus one simplely equals two, the answer in team work can turned out to be three even four. In this society which is filled with fierce competition, cooperate is one of the basic methods people use to get survived and struggled together to success no matter in academic fields or business area. If one cannot accept other’s criticism that mean he is not able build any normal cooperate relationships with others and he would have to fight with thousands enemy with his own power.

What’s more, not receiving criticism fromothers could imply that he is a man with complacency which is fatal to interpersonal relationship. Nowadays, what people enjoy anddesired for is a equal relationship with at least mutual respect andunderstanding. Therefore, it is obvious that there is no room for complacency inmodern life. In that case, once other people found out that he never accept criticism,their relationship as well as friendship would probably be ruined or not appealany more in a minute. Thus, how can he get success in 21st century withoutreliable social relationships, without friends?

Last but not least, to some extent, humanbeings are always tend to treat each other in the same way. Those who neverlistened to other will probably never be listened to and be abandoned by thegroup or more people in the end. Therefore, not learning from others all thetime may leads to critical consequence that he would be confined by himself andstay still in his “well” without progress forever. I think in this situation seldompeople can get success even if he is very talented or diligent.

Nowadays, the progress of science technology dramatically changedthe way people live in many areas, as to communication field, it even allowed ustalking to others without facing them or currently reacting and responding. Sincethe way through which we talk to others, especially when about upsetting or controversialproblems, can largely affect the result. I strongly agreed that when we need todiscuss something upsetting or controversial, using email/text messaging is thebest choice.

To begin with, it is undeniable that we are always adding ourpersonal emotion in communication, especially about some upsetting or controversialproblems. Obviously, contrasted to using telephone/voice-messaging, people aremore easily to calm done or being critical when reading e-mail/text message. Thus,many problems would not only become more easily to analyze but also more fairlytreated.

In addition, e-mail/text messaging are usually more indirectsince one would have to response to others directly if using the telephone andmight take risk that the phone got answered if leaving a voice massage. It is obviousthat if we use some kinds of more indirect ways like email to tell others someupsetting or controversial things or problems, during the discuss we can havemore time to arrange our words or think about the best way to response so as toavoid arousing conflict or extreme sadness. Conceived consolation and whitelies might make the sad ones feel better while some precise organized andlogical arguments might solve the controversial problems in a more peaceful andefficient way without drastic conflict or a loud big fight. All of above requiretime to analyze, react, arrange and take careful thought indicating it would beimpossible if we are talking on phone or leaving others a message while the onewho emails or texts can.

Last but not least, in this fast moving society, when comes somethingcontroversial it is very important to preserve evidence in case futurenecessary. In most cases, words can be better preserved when using e-mail/textmessaging instead of only remembered in one’s head when using telephone /voice-messaging.For instance, the location of a restaurant, it can be very convenient for ahusband who is easy to forget things if preserved in phone while it can be anprove of who is wrong if a couple when to different restaurant for dating sinceit was preserved in black and white terms.


To sum up, I think it’s freedom for people to choose the waythey prefer to talk with others but if you need to discuss upsetting or controversialproblems with others, Using e-mail/text messaging is better than usingtelephone/voice-messaging.

the quality of education has been an issue for a long time, many parents argued that their children got schooled instead of educated. At the same time, many possibly solutions were largely discussed while an opinion that the best way to improve the quality of education is to raise teacher’s salaries has been widely supported recently. I, being a student myself, do not agree with that, this is no best way to solve this problem while it can only be solved with the congregated changes in many different aspects.

To begin with, this opinion has gain so much support might mainly because an universally agreed theory that if one is satisfied with his salary can directly decide his attitude towards his job. It is undeniable that the teaching is a job and it works here, too. However I don’t think teachers should take main responsibly for the current poor quality education since it’s a complicated   situation due to sorts of reasons. As we can see, the development of science made children facd too much temptation while they get more and more spoiled accompanying dozens of bad habits. Raising teachers’ salaries might could made some teachers pay more responsible to their job and addressed a few parts of this huge tasks but it is impossible that the whole problem got solved just so easily.

What’s more, it is obvious that many teachers are already doing their best, but there the results remain the same. Accordingly, there are far more we should do beside this so called best way. For example, the amount of small class should be enlarged since students all need personal attention from teachers, the methods used in teaching should be more efficient and creative, equipments in many school need update, parents’ present attitude towards education might are a little too negative, type and style of homework which can strongly improve children’s ability to work and think independently remains change, even the reform of the whole education mechanism, etc.

To sum up, Rome is not built in one day, neither is the reasons leading to the current situation of education and the solutions. There is no best way to improve the quality of education, it can be only augmented step by step and aspect by aspect.
