In this group of materials, the reading passage discusses reasons that seem to demonstrate that buzzers have generated much controversial problems that critics suggest to prohibit buzzing. While in the lecture, the professor argues that buzzing action will definitely bring benifits rather than negative influence by stress different points.

The first point made in the reading passage is that the buzzers are paid to provide incorrect information to mislead the customers. However in the listening passage, the speaker opposes the claim. He says they are also the customers of the product and think the product of high appraised. Thus he is hired by the company. So he claims those buzzers are different from advertisers and would provide correct information.

The second point made in the reading passage is that since the buzzers are often in close relationship with customers. The customers will judge the product with less criticism and suspicion which they should have. But the buzzer says it is not the real case. They will be asked much more questions about the product such in price, service, and how long they use the product. Thus, the customers will consider the product in a more critical way.

The third point made in the reading passage is that buzzing will do harm to social relationship because it can cause mistrust among people when they begin to aware of buzzers. The buzzer explains that people this situation will not happen. Since they trust the product and recruited by the company, they can make other people to try the product and have a good experience. So the buzzing action can bring trust and good to people.

Do you agree or disagree with the followingstatement? People care more about public recognitionthan about money. Even if no more money is given, public recognition can stillmake people work harder.-35min

Rcently, the majority of people claim as ifit is a general truth that public recognition have a stronger influence thanmoney for people to fight for their work. Others hold a divergent attitude thinkit is not that case. But frankling speaking, I think most of people continuetheir work, even a career, mainly for aquiring recognition from other peoplearound. The reasons are as following.

The first and foremost important point weshould consider is that the goal to earn money can be achieved in a verylimited period, while the public recognition are hard to get that it influencea person in a longer range of time. Taking my brother for example, he is an ITengineer in the Los Angle. Even though he cannot make money until he got a jobin eBay. He would soon be able to support the life on his own. However, hesometimes tells me the only reason for him to work hard is the respect andaffirmation from other people. When money you earn is rise to an extent thatyou don't need to worry about, then the problem about money is justmeaningless. The public recognition will make people care for a loner time.

In addtion, although money or we say allforms of material interests can support a person's life, they cannot satisfyhis or her psychological need. Considering many artists, although a large part ofthem spend a struggling time with exhausting work and poverty. They would alsobe pleased and even happy to continue their career. When exploring his paintintstyle with little fame, Picasso would sometimes be worried about livelihood. Hewould paint ordinary work to sustain his life. But he continues his work and finallybecome the mastery in the Postmodernism.

Last but not thte least, recognition fromother people can exert a much longer and profound effect than most of peoplecan imagine. While the payment is critical to most of people, the reason why peoplechoose the career depends on what life he or she wants to experience. This alsomeans what recognition we expect from other people in most cases because mostof us live on the recognition from others.

To sum up, although in a short period, people will pursue money with great contemporary enthusiasm. He or she neverthelessis more willing to obtain other's recognition. Taking into all factors above,we should says that recognition weight more much than money or even otherthings for people to care because it is hard to get, even in a long period, also because it can satisfy the real need from individual mind.

In this group of meterials, the reading passage discusses reasons that seem to demostrate the painting work is not created by the Rembrandt, while in the lecture, the speaker argues that it is the orinigal paint from Rembarndt's hands by put forward several different points.

The first point made in the reading passage is the fact that the lady wears a white linen cap that few servants can afford. Rembrandt is known for dealing details that he may not make such a mistake. However in the listening passage, the lecturer says the analysis of the paintint found someone paint pigment of other color on the original work so that the original color is the same as we see today.

The second point made in the reading passage is that the light and shadow do not fit in a harmony way, while the Rembrandt is a master of dealing light and shadow. But the professor says that since the original color has been overlapped, the outstanding light and shadow work could not been observed. In the original paint, the light and shadow on the woman's face is very remarkable and realistic.

The third point made in the reading passage is that the Portrait of an Elderly Woman in a White Bonnet is painted on a panel formed with several pieces of wood. This is not the Rembrandt's habit. The professor explains that the original work is truly painted on a single wood. But for the reason of increasing grand and value of the painting, several pieces of wood were added. Moreover, some of the wood pieces are from the same tree of Rembrandt's another painting.

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement It is more important for the government to spend money on art museums and concert halls than on recreational facilities such as swimming pools and playgrounds. -37min

Recently, the majority of people argue that goverment should invest more money on art musems and concert hall to support the social constructions in these areas, while others hold a divergent attitude that government should put money on recreational facilities such as swimming pools and playground to improve the life standard. I think the main aim of the choice is to enhance the social development and individual life. But to be frankly, I agree that government should put investment on the art museums and concert halls rather than the recreational facilities either for the purpose of spiritual fulfillment, or for cultural conservation, or just for entertainment.

The first and foremost benifit is that organizations like art museum and concert halls can bring joy and peace to our heart. They hold the magic which recreational facilities do not have. For example, when I go to the Shanghai art museum, the delicate pieces of artwork and interesting painting would draw my eyeballs. There are introductions about the artwork and the spirits connotation they want to express. You see, think, walk round and feel very peaceful, while at the same time engender respect for the authors.

In addition, the art organizations can also help to conserve and accumulate the artwork no matter it was produced ar present or in the past. Consider that New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art, we can found many human art works from Egyp, Assyrian and Mid-East. There even has an ancient shrine presented by Eygptian government. Moreover, the Watson Library there contain a huge amount of knowledge about art, science and technology, human and society which truth concerve the wealth of human.

The last but not the least, art museums and concert halls can also amuse us, even more than recreational facilities. For instance, in last winter, my whole family went to the National Centre for the Performing Arts, to see the performance of HENRY V. My sister and little brother were very excited about the journey, not because of the show, but because they can go outside for a while. My mother and I all very like the plot and the scene. My family had a great time.

To sum up, although recreational facilities are also necessary for personal life, its functions are limited in narrow area. Taking into all the factors above, it is wise for government to invest money on art museums and concert halls because these can help keep our culture and satisfy our souls, and bring fun and relax.

The group of materials, the reading passage discusses several reasons that seem to demonstrate that the Tyrannosaurus fossil will give the researchers a crucial opportunity to study the real tissue of ancient animals. However, in the lecture, the professor argues that the real tissues in the fossil do not exist by stressing some strong evidences.

The first point made in the reading passage is fact that the tiny branching channels in the broken fossil may be the space where vessels existed. However, in the listening passage, the professor argues that is not blood cells, but some hollow made by bacteria. After the animals died, bacteria lived inside the soft tissue and the area is left by bacteria colonies.

The second point made in the passage is that the spheres in the inner bone may be revealed as remains of red cells. But the professor says that the remains of animals nearby contain the same kinds of spheres. However, these animals do not contain red cells. Thus the sphere can not be red cells. It might be the sediments of mineral.

The third point in the reading passage is that the dinosaur leg bone contain collagen, a protein whic is a main component of living bone tissue. The professor explains that it might be something else. People do not find any remains containing collagen that exist earlies than 100,000 years ago. Thus, the professor explains tha may come from other source like the skin of researchers.

In the group of materials, the reading passage discusses three possible hypotheses that seem to explain cedar's declination. However, in the lecture, the professor argues that all of the hypotheses are not likely to be correct by streesing several evidences.

The first hypothesis made in the reading passage is that the insect parasites, especially the cedar bark beetle, cause the decline of cedar. However, in the listening part, the cedar are said to be more resistent to insect than people thought. The chemical secreted by the tree is poisonous to insect which made the hypothesis unlikely to happen. The professor claims that the tree attacked by insects must already have had disease or died.

The second hypothesis made in the passage that the brown bears make the cedar decrease. But the professor says that brown bears are not the main reason of the overall decline. Since in mainland and island the cedar are all declined but bears only exist on mainland. Thus the brown bears are not responsible for the decline of the cedar.

The third hypothesis in the reading passage attributes the decline to the gradual change of climate over the last hundreds years. Whereas the professor explains that one influential element is missing. For example, in warm area with low elevation the number of trees decreases more than that in cold area with high elevation, which is contrary to the third hypothesis.

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?
The most important characteristic for politics is to accept responsibility for mistake. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer. Do you agree or disagree?

逻辑和语言能写成这种奇葩算是头一遭:L ,各位改的筒子见谅

Recently, with the great development in social awareness, crucial characteristics have been considered as to help individuals and groups to judge in politics and life. A majority of people argue that accepting responsibility for mistake is the most important characteristic, while others holds that other charateristics are more crucial. As for me, I think even thought responsibility should be precised, it can not supply route and impetus to help people get happiness and success.

The first and foremost thing we should consider is that politics is aim to help people and society to achieve happiness and success. Accepting mistake could not help to get that. As a political leader, one must have a stategic mind to see probable trendency. For exmaple, as the president of United States, Obama of course will consider politics, miliary, deplomatic factors when facing a problem, and sign an act or execute a policy should synthesize various possible situations which will have a profound impact on the whole country. On the other hand, responsibility to accept mistake could do nothing to leadership. People want a politician that can guide them to the good not just tell them that he or she can accept the bad.

In addition, and to some extent, that one can accpet mistake does not mean that he or she has the courage, impetus and power to execute a policy, lead a country and its people. For example, in our daily life, we always observe a kind of people. Even though he or she are willing to accept others' critic to their mistake, he or she would not do something to change, to begin a new plan or have the conrage and power to do what they should do. Thus, in politics, people wiht responsibility to accept does not mean he or she would do what they shodld do.

The last but not the least, while it is partly true that responsibility is important psycological characteristics because in politics one should have the awareness to burden, there are other charateristics such as calm and loyalty. For example, politicians should be calm as possible when confronting gigantic disasters. Also, they should have loyalty to the country and would never betray it.

Taking into all the points above, it is wise to conclude that there are much more important characteristics for politics, and an outstanding leader should not just have the responsibilty to accept the negative results but have the ability to achieve possitive goals.

In this set of materials, the reading passage discusses reasons that seem to demostrate terrible results that reading decline would bring about. However, the professor in the lecture strongly opposes the argument by stressing additional evidences.

The first point made in reading the passage is that nothing else could supply the intellactual development as literature does. However in the listening passage, other forms of materials such in science, history, and politics are often written in high quality. Thus, these materials can also stimulate creative thinking and imagination.

The second point made in the reading passage missing the benefits of literature, people have no other kind of culture with high quality to receive. But the professor says that since the forms of culture have changed, there are other options for people to choose. Moreover, these kinds of culture would not lower the standard. For example, listening to a nice music or watching a good movie will not lower the level of culture and not waste people's time.

The third point in the reading part is that lack of audience would do harm to the author and literature. The professor explains that it is the authors' fault for the decline of reading. Since many authors are intended to write books that are diffcult for readers. Less and less people are not willing to read.

0601儿童节作文题:
2011-02-11 北美独立机经
Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?
Parents should allow children to make and learn from their own mistakes. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer. Do you agree or disagree?-48min

Nowadays, what people consider about how to educate their childern have changed significantly as the ideology of eduaction is improving. The majority of people argue that parent should allow their children to make and learn own mistakes, others holds a divergent attitude. In various situations, the main aim is to largely develope imagination, creativity, observation of the next generation. To be frankly, I would definitely agree that people should let their children make mistakes which they could get meaningful lessons from. In that case, young teenagers are willing to think creative, thus their creative thinking and spirit of independence could be promoted.

The first and foremost important fact is that allow for mistakes can give children power and courage to think, to try, to explore. Since children's mind is like small plants which parents should look after carefully, words of blame or dissuade could ruin the growing of curiosity. If it can only developed in childrenhood, and once destroyed it could hardly be recovered. So as qualified parents, they should let children to make mistakes but not to blame, to help to perserve curiosity.

In addition, and to some extent that mistakes can help children with learning ability. There are enormous examples we can discuss. For instance, Steve Jobs, one of the greatest CEO in the world. When Jobs was a child, he was very amazed by electronics and attracted by the power of the electrical industry. As a student in high school, his paretns allow him to try his thinking even though some small accidents happened every now and then. At that time, Jobs had the chance to learn more from the failures with his partner Wozniak. They start to learn some practical content in physics and electronics some of which are even diffcult fot junior collegeg students. We can see that it is his parents' allowance for his mistakes that help to the development of Jobs.

The last but not the least, to allow mistakes, to encourage learning from them, children can breed spirit of independence which is maybe the most important chracteristic. This can make children a man with own thinking, with the ability to question. According to a survey conducted by National Insititue of Social Science in China, children with permitting for mistakes can bemore indenpendent in their daily life. They would be more active in study, more willing to take part in activity. When they have grown, they would exhibit much more posible success in their career and they could be the leaders of their area.

With the dvelopment of society, education and culture, people are geting aware that mistakes could be benificial for their children. Taking into all factors, we may conclude that children should be allowed to have mistakes and to learn from them, since it could teach chldren to think, to use their imagination and to be independent.

0602 101030NA Do you agree or disagree with the following statement:
It is easier for people to become well-educated now than in the past.-31min

Nowadays, the majority of people argue as if it is a general truth that people are more likely to receive excellent education than in the past. However, others hold a divergent attitude toward his issue. As for me, I agree with the former position with numerous reasons such as the public concern, or because of available of teaching resource, or just of methodology in teaching.

The first and foremost important is the change of social attitude on education. In the past, most of works concentrate on the agriculture and industrial area so that required knowledge is very limited in amount and range. With the rapid development caused by information and automation, production and manipulation of agriculture and industrial contain much more technology thus it is necessary for a perosn to receive high level and comprehensive education. On the other hand, due to the consideration of national development and individual development, the government and public put more and more weigh on education. This conversion in attitude would promote make people with good education more possible.

In addtion, to a significant degree, educational resources are more flourished no matter in quantity and in quality. Considering the Internet and digital medium, these invents in technology accelerate the knowledge spread objectively. For example, if my roomate want to go to Spain and learn proficient Spainish. He would not need to find teachers deliberately and cost much money. All his need to do is just buy the online course which not only cheaper but also effective for novice. Another example is about mt learning English; I can search much source like VOA and BBC audio-visual material with delicate production which most of them are not available twelve years ago.

The last but not the least, the teaching method has been improved subtlely and significantly. In the past we may have no sytematic method in teaching a subject. But now, because previous people have accumulated much useful experience so that people who want to be master in the area could go round the trap and save unnecessary effort. To think of learning microchip dsign, in the past the averatge time for Chinese is three years, now the training process is only ten months to one year. This is becasue these areas has been maturing and know how to teach useful experience and knowleage more effectively.

Generally speaking, evne though much more work should be done in education area, we should concede that a person can get knowledge he or she need more easily. Taking into account of all these factors, we may reach the conclusion that people can be well-educated more easily now than in the past, not only because the public begin to concentrate the seriousness of this problem, but the method and resource for teaching are becoming more and more available.
