There is a hot discussion about whether should the government be supportive to the scientific research. Someone views it as a waste of money,if the research is useless to the reality. As far as I concern, definitely, our government should render monetary help to the scientific progress in order to improve the power of our country, prepare for the future and make a spiritual effect for a practical purpose.


First, it is acknowledged that the scientific experiments will bring a leap in the development of the whole country,no matter in the field of economy or military
power and so forth which are also the major task of the government. Obviously, to make it better, governors should pay for their excellent study and work. What's more, if it were paid by some rich individuals or private agency, the scientific career would have had to be influenced by the profits and interests, thus, it is not hard to imagine that science may become our enemy instead of accomplished assistant. What a perilous it would be!


Second, honestly,the "practical use" from the statement is difficult for us to identify.It is totally possible to happen that something created seems futile but invaluable in the coming future. Therefore, there does not exist a exact standard for the government officials or researchers to tell it. Furthermore, a coin always has two sides. Likewise,The practical use exists the positive as well as the negative. An outstanding example is the appearance
of nuclear power. When comes to the benefits
of it, for instance,to supply sufficient electrical energy to the human, the new type of power is a brilliant outcome of the scientific work. However, the governor would have not bolstered this work if they realize it would make such a huge scale of destroying to the peace of the world.


Third, we should not forget that some spiritual force will make it easier and efficient to explore something practical. Scientific study in the art area, finding out the the origin and the background of the painting,as an example,may trigger more attention and improve the audiences' ability to appreciate the beauty around the world which will be optimistic
to this pleasant life. With a bright mood, human beings is doomed to create something practical.You see,this is the power of scientific research in a realm that looks less use to the ordinary people.


What need to be mention is that the governors should balance well in the proportion of the money applies in the scientific work because there are some other focus,such as the education,the welfare which are equally critical waiting for the governments'
preference.

In sum, the government should take on the burden of scientific research to lead the country to a correct direction, enrich the citizens' emotional world and make a practical progress with the results in the future.
