However, for the majority of employees money weighs more than social status
Admittedly, numerous people denigrate the pursuit money as fundamentally unattractive. They devote themselves to nobler goals-and more often then not become widely respected. Teachers, for instance, devote themselves to the education of the next generation, passing through knowledge and wisdom, and scientists devote themselves to the revelation of the ultimate truth of our universe. They devote themselves despite the relatively low salaries and therefore receive special titles and privileges accorded by the society as the signs for social status. for 还是用of？
However, for the major portion of people, who suffer from financial pressures and have fewer motives in devotion, decent salaries are of great attractiveness. In every family, the children need to go to school and the elders need medical care, the tuition cost and medicine expenditure can be quite huge and pressing. Sometimes the circumstance can be worse, the family might even shoulder the house mortgage or car loan. When being plagued by such financial problems, it is natural for people to see making money as their one and only goal.

The young are also commonly influenced by such values. It is now a norm rather than an exception in universities that the highest-achieving students all choose such finance-related jobs as investment bankers, analyst in private equity teams or financial consultant in consulting firms. All of these are highly paid yet exhausting occupations. With these jobs, they have to work nearly 24/7, and have little time to bond with their family or even sleep. They care little about job satisfaction or social status and money becomes the only thing they valued.
I am not advocating materialism nor am I saying we should neglect social status and work our butts off to earn money. My point is that for the majority of people, it is unfortunately but true that chasing money is the mainly purpose of working due to the great pressure we suffering every day.

From the earliest time, education ties inextricably with the evolution of the society. By virtue of the constant, if not increasing, significance of passing on the human being’s cumulative knowledge and wisdom to the next generation, education is greatly valued by the society as a whole. With dozens of decades’ efforts, now it is safe to say that our members of the society are enjoying the best education environment in the history and they face much less difficulties than before to receive education.

The increasing availability of education resources enables more individuals longing for knowledge to receive education. Universities and colleges，especially public ones, have constantly allocate money on the enlargement of campus and enhancement of facilities aiming at catering to the needs of more students. And more and more newborn universities and colleges are established which provide people more accesses to education. Besides these comprehensive colleges, numerous specialized training institutions are also available for people who what to receive education in certain relatively narrow realms. For instance, the English training clubs, accounting skills training classes or computer skills improving institutions in Beijing are now too many to mention. People have needs of getting trained in these areas can easily find satisfactory classes.

The government also contributes a lot to reduce people’s financial concerns related to education and therefore make it easier for people to get educated. A large portion of tax revenue is now invested in education to support people in bad economic conditions to receive decent education, which makes the shortage of money less of a problem. Students confronting difficulties to pay for university tuition can apply for numerous kinds of assistantships, scholarships, partial tuition wavier and no-interest loans-all of them are effective and efficient ways to deal with financial issues.

Beyond the abundant educational resources in formal education, people can also enjoy other efficient accesses to education thanks to technology advancement. The Internet can act as a great agent for people to receive education. The resources on the Internet are literally unlimited, people，when surfing on the Internet, are absorbing information at every pole. By refining the information，people can gain valuable knowledge and achieve education by themselves. Also, there are several tools on the Internet can accelerate the process of self-education such as search engines, Wikipedia, and MBA-lib. By utilizing such tools people can get better-organized information and thus higher-quality education.

To sum up, owing to the increasing availability of education institutions, financial support from the government and various accesses to education offered by technology improvement, people in modern society can receive education easier than anytime before.

However, if we give it a second thought, the extended weekend schedule can be quite problematic and would harm the interests of both employers and employees.

To employees, such poor-planned schedule would turn their orderly lives in to chaos. Although they can enjoy a four-day long relaxing time every week without being plagued by works, the other three days are very intensive. Since the total amount of workload remains constant, they have to work their butts off to finish the heavy and demanding tasks, which, originally, they can leisurely complete in 5 days. To meet the work requirement in such a short time, it would not be hard to imagine that they have to, more often than not, work from dusk to dawn every single day or even work until passing out. In such extreme stressful working environment, one can hardly build a healthy, both physiologically and mentally, lifestyle.

To the employers, the schedule would be a nightmare as well. The organization would be completely paralyzed with the 4-day weekend schedule. Decisions from managers can by no means be consistently executed when employees work only three days a week. Each week, they can only finish a small portion of dedicated works and then weekend comes. 4 days later, it would not be surprising if they totally forget what they have done and what should be done right now. In this case, the company as whole would definitely operate in a chaotic way and become, at best, less profitable.

To sum up, amazing as it sounds at first, the extended weekend schedule is infeasible, and if implemented, both employers and employees would be gravely and negatively impacted.
