Major(改为a bunch of 怎样?) public financial expenditure by our government is to provide financial supports to various scientific researches. However, not all the scientific research can bring about practical application immediately, some people argue that the government should stop to support the scientific research which has no practical use. As far as I am concerned, I strongly insist that our government should spend on researches no matter how much useful they are, because scientific research can definitely promote scientific progress, potential advancement, as well as the development of human society.

It is undeniable that most scientific labs are set in the universities which are full of talented scholars and intelligent college students. As it is known to all, scientific research cost a huge amount of money which is unaffordable for universities alone, as a result, the government need to offer financial assistant. But, if only the study of useful research can be supported, researchers on the field of unpractical ones will feel frustrated and disappointed, followed by disadvantageous effect on college students who are just about to start chasing their academic achievements. In this case, the suspending of financial help will obstruct diversified creative ideas because lots of scholars have to abandon some of their research due to the inadequacy of research funds. That is to say, researches with no practical applications should also be supported to encourage more practitioners to pursue scientific research and make scientific progress in the end.(觉得有点论点很好啊但好像有点展开不足~ 建议调整下结构：diversified creative ideas推动科技进步，而这些ideas 产生于大学里那些大量的多样的试验与研究，这些research需要钱，大学独立不够支付，so 政府给，如果政府只支付practical研究，就是限定了研究的多样性，阻碍了scientific progress.)

What's more, we are incapable of predicting the future precisely. Some of the scientific research are unpractical for now but not for the future. For example, the newest technology called SIRI applied in Iphone 4S, which is unimaginable for people living decades ago. Thanks to numerous scientists who have done researches about cutting edge technologies for smart phones which were unpractical in the past, without those previous scientific results, there might be no SIRI today. Likewise, what researchers do today may seem unrealistic, but we can not assert that it will be unpractical forever which might result in potential advancement in the field of science.

Besides, for the majority, there are a great many researches which means not practical at all, such as astrology and astronautics which are research about outer spaces and stars. We can barely use them to do something or practice relevant theories, but they do help human beings know more about the world we are living in, knowing about the world is a symbol of civilization and represents the progress of human society. The more researches are supported on these fields, the more we might know about the world, and the whole society will be developed in a brand new way.

【Y or N】 We should never be impolite to another person.


Today, in China, the ideas of Confucius have influenced people's thinking and behavior for over 2,000 years which is and surely will be going on. One of the most influential moral idea is to be polite to others and well behaved all the time, I strongly support this idea because being polite may help us build a harmonious society, allow us to be a successful man, as well as reduce crime rate.

Always be polite, being highly valued, is a virtue that being expected from both friends and strangers, contributing to shape the harmonious atmosphere. For example, we use courtesy expressions such as "Thank you", "Please" to show the appreciation and request when we process daily talks with others; Courtesy expressions, the most obvious way of being polite, are good manners helping people to be accepted easier. As a result, being influenced by others every day, an increasing number of people will become more polite under the harmonious environment which might then accelerate the establishment of civilization. That is to say, being polite is beneficial for the building of a harmonious society.

Moreover, as almost every book titled HOW TO SUCCESS says, being polite is an essential element and critical prerequisite of success and other achievements. Take businessmen for example, a polite salesman is not difficult to be accepted on the first meeting with clients, the more polite he shows, the more impressive he is, therefore, when the clients make the decision of choosing a supplier, the most impressive salesman is more likely to win the customers who will definitely own more opportunities of success. On the contrary, it is hardly impossible for those impolite ones to win the trust from friends or clients which might lead to less popularity among friends and lower quota achievements. Being polite has, to a great extent, helped people on their way of climbing up social ladders.

At last, being impolite is the most common cause brings about disputes; the serious ones may finally result in criminals which are frequently seen in Hollywood movies. Therefore, parents and teachers nowadays behave polite to others through which they educate the children and teenagers in person and protect them away from crimes. Likewise, people influence others via their own behaviors which would in the end help reduce fights and crimes.

In all, people should be polite to their surroundings all the time for the reasons discussed above and should never be impolite to an another person because people will never know how much important the other person involved means to them until the impolite manners kill the reputation and ruin their whole lives.

Some people believe that people should follow their ambitious dreams and goals even they are not realistic
others believe that people should focus on achieving realistic goals



People now tend to refer to the various dreams according to the possibility of dreams coming true, that is to say, dreams are easily devided into two simple extreme categories: realistic ones and unrealistic ones. As life is only once for every person, how indivuduals spend their life-time becomes an primary problem to consider for them. Should people only focus on achieving realistic goals or chase ambitious ones no matter whether they are realistic or not? As far as I am concerned, I strongly support the idea of chasing the ambitious dreams even they are unrealistic because dreams offer us energy to do everything with enthusiasm, those unrealistic but ambitious ones are not realistic at the moment rather than forever, and merely concentrating on realistic ones may kill not only creative ideas but also ambitions which might lead to the suspend of technology progress and social development.

Ambitious dreams provide people great motive and unimaginable impetus. John Nash, the founder of the theory of Nash equilibrium, is an mathematical genius and devote all his live on his dreams of academic achievements which were even unknown for the reseach field and seemed not realistic at all. Thanks to Nash's persistance, the theory of Nash equilibrium has been and surely will go on playing an important role in numerous areas for both theory and applying. As it is true for all scientific research areas, without those persistent dreams and seemingly crazy ideas, there would never be so much cutting-edge technology and all kinds of modern electronic products. People should spend their time on things they want to do the most while following their dreams because time is limited for each individual.

In addition, the definition of unrealistic is restricted by social development, goals unrealistic now might be realistic in the future which should not be ignored. For example, it was impossible to command the cellphone just by sound for people living decades ago, computers with no keyboards were incredible as well. The idea of operating computers and cellphone by fingers on the screen was pretty rediculous years ago. However, we can simply realize them by iphone 4S and similar smart electronic products nowadays. Dreams may be unrealistic for a short peoriod of time and might be realistic in the foreseen future. Whether dreams are realistic or not should not be the obstruction that affect people's chasing of their ambition.  

Finally but not the least, only focusing on realistic dreams may impose restrictions on creative mind which is an critical prerequisition of technology progress and social development. As human brain pocesses unlimited potential, without the drive of ambitious but unrealistic dreams, a day may come when the development of human society stop. In all, people should encouraged to follow their dreams and goals no matter realistic or not.

【Y or N】It is often not a good thing for people to move to a new town or a new country because they will lose their friends.

Nowadays, an increasing number of people tend to move to new places to live, domestic or abroad, for pursuing career development, further education and so on. Moving to a new town or a new county may bring about numerous attractive opportunities and wonderful lives, a different environment may also offer a brand new life experience that is fascinating for the most. However, some may concern about losing friends who are important in their lives when facing the decision of moving or not. As far as I am concerned, there is no need to worry because the move would never affect sincere friendships and sometimes, to a large extent, may even promote the connection among friends.

First, sincere friends would hardly drift apart because of distance and space. Thanks to internet and relevant electronic products, people today can connect with each other only by fingering on the keyboards or smart phone screens. They update recent surrounding informations on twitter and facebook through which their friends may get to know about everything happened to them. They can also chat with each other whenever and wherever they want owning to various instant message tools such as Gtalk, moreover, video chat is available if only there is a camera on the phone or notebook. Therefore, moving to other places would impossibly become the barrier of communication among friends, not to mention losing friends.

What's more, people move to other places to pursue lives of higher qualities and chase ambitious dreams, when this happens, friends should be the most powerful support rather than obstruct. A friend in need is a friend indeed. If a friend of mine needs to leave the city he lives now for a better life, as a friend, I would bless him deeply and offer as much help as I can to support him. It is hard to imagine that a friend will leave you only because you have to move away, a friendship like that could never endure hardship and does not deserve trust and sincerely pay. So, people do not need to worry about losing friends as being a result of the move.

In some cases, moving to other places may greatly promote the friendship. As host of new places, people could invite their old friends to travel to their new cities which would surely enhance the friendships through the journey. In addition, friends would miss each other more due to the temporary separation that may strengthen the relationship by cherishing each other. In short, true friendship will endure separation and people would not lose it because of moving away.

【Y or N】College or University should offer students more preparation before they start working.
   
People who oppose the idea of college or university offering more job preparation say that study and research are divorced from the "real world". I would argue instead that undergraduate education should focus on its most important responsibility to pursue education and academic research to the best of its ability. Education in college or university does not only impart various specialized knowledge but also help improve students' self-learning ability and accumulate adaptive power which help make students well-prepared for job markets.

As the critical prerequisite of college existence is teaching knowledge, and college should concentrate on imparting knowledge. Before attending college, students seldom have the opportunity to specialize. Given the possibility to learn whatever they desire at college, students increase and accumulate knowledge gradually, which they need for acquiring a specific college degree that make them more competitive for the workforce.

Another important role the college play is to pursue academic research which is the key element to promote technology progress and social improvement. Students are able to engage in the research with professional professors and are more likely to get into cutting-edge advance of science and technology. Therefore, students with certain scientific research achievements are much easier to gain relevant occupation; as a result, college might not need to prepare more for students’ career plan.

Meanwhile, when students study knowledge and concentrate their minds on scientific research, they increasingly grasp the skill of self-learning potentially which is beneficial for one's whole life, including hunting for a job. Individuals with the skill of fast learning and adaptation are more likely to succeed in their own fields. That is to say, college and university need to focus on teaching and working on research more than others, such as offer special assistant to make students more prepared before they take any jobs.

【Y or N】People who cannot accept criticism will not succeed in a team.

We now live in a world where individuals tend to live gradually independently on their own, in most cases, it is difficult for people to criticize their own thoughts. However, the ability of readily listening to different ideas and opinions becomes key characteristic essential to success. That is to say, those who cannot accept criticism would hardly succeed, especially when being in a team. People with open minds are more likely to acquire opportunities for advancement, win more friends and dramatically play important roles in the teamwork.

When working in a team, it is unavoidable that numerous different ideas emerge and sometimes may even cause an intense debate or dispute. For team leaders and those who are in charge of making final decisions, willing to take advices by co-workers is of great importance because it may help adjust projects and programs to be more effective and to meet the deadline in advance. On the other hand, for those who are ordinary team members, holding an open mind offers opportunities to shape characteristic resulting in obvious advantages in the competition of promotion towards managers.

Meanwhile, if people are always readily available for criticism with patience and enthusiasm, it would be pretty easy for them to make themselves impressive among the team and be good team players resulting in remarkable success. It turns out that the more they are willing to accept criticism, the more friends they gain. Contributing to great communication, listening to others would strengthen the team spirit that lead to teamwork well done, through which team members understand each other while good communication plays an important role in the team. It is unimaginable for those who refuse criticism and advices can well perform the role of cooperative team players.   

Finally, willing to accept criticism might help people notice mistakes and shortages in time which is crucial for the whole team. After listening to criticism about mistakes, people can adjust their plan immediately before the emergence of fatal disasters. Take an extreme case for example, during a flight in the air, if the pilot made a bad decision which has been pointed out by other team members, whether the pilot could accept the criticism means difference between life and death. Therefore, people who cannot accept criticism cannot even make the right decision, not to mention to succeed on day in the future.

After all the discussion above, we can safely draw a conclusion that the ability to accept criticism is an indispensable factor to achieve success in a team, without which would not succeed indeed.
