109Some people believe that scientificdiscoveries have given us amuch better understanding of the world around us.
Others believethat science has revealedto us that the world is infinitely more complex than we ever realized.

Write a response in which you discuss which view moreclosely aligns with your own position and explain your reasoning for the positionyou take. In developing and supporting your position, you should address both ofthe views presented.

有些人认为，科学发现让人们更清楚地认识周围的世界。也有人认为，科学展现给人们一个比我们想象的复杂的多的世界。

我的观点：
以上两个观点我都同意。

Scientific discoveries havegiven us a much better understanding of the world.
哥白尼的日心学说推翻教会传统繁复的地心说，让我们认识简洁而又美妙的天体运动，这不正是科学使世界更加简单的例子么？

Science has revealed to us thatthe world is infinitely more complex

这也确实不假，量子力学和相对论的发展，使原已被某著名科学家定论为已建设完整的物理学大厦不得不重新修改地基。

In my opinion, sciencediscoveries help us make better understand of unknown.
我们之所以认为XXX复杂、神秘，本质是因为我们对其不了解，不懂得其内在的规律。日食，多么简单的一种天文现象，因为古人不了解其本质规律，或者古人的观察有限，获取的信息不足，所以才会有许许多多对日食现象的复杂解释。然而科技发展了，我们可以通过天文望远镜观察月球和太阳的运动了，于是日食现象的本质规律就浮出了水面，天体间的遮挡作用，就这么简单。而这简单的解释，正是由科学的发展带给我们的。

The more we discovery the moreunknown will be found. Although, problems would be rather complex and mysteriousat first, they will be studied and become really simple as long as we keep onstudying them with the help of science method.（结论）
