考完考官祝我have a nice day and good luck!
Miss White:
When you read the topic, write down the first two or three things that pop to your mind.
They don't have to be directly linked, but, when you start writing, they will push your mind to think of arguments.
In relation to one of the examples above, if you have the question on whether or not children should be made to take additional classes/lessons on Saturdays or left on their own to decide what to do, you may jot down:
I hated violin.
English grades were good.
Kate went to movies.
When you begin to write your paper, you can use these to make arguments.
I hated violin can be seen in several ways: you hated it, but by being forced to take lessons you are now an excellent player OR you hated it, rarely practiced, and won't go near one now.
My English grades were good. You can say: by studying with a tutor every Saturday and spending extra time each night reading books, my English skills continuously developed to the point that, when I was 10, I could speak conversational English with a native English speaker and read classic books.
OR My English grades were good, so I don't know why I had to spend my Saturdays doing additional lessons. I was the best in the class, but it seems like my parents punished me for it by keeping me inside each weekend.
Kate went to the movies: Kate was allowed to freely choose how to use her time and she did so by going to pop-culture movies or concerts. Her grades were only average, and she had to study for hours each night.
OR Kate spent extra time each evening studying, so she did not lose any academic standing by choosing to spend her Saturdays shopping at the mall or going to movies. I made her tell me about each one, and I could pretend I was there.
So, you see, often when you write down what you perceive to be random thoughts, you are actually laying the foundation for your essay.
Sometimes long phrases (sentences) are difficult to read. Try to make things as clear as possible while still writing sentences that are on a difficulty level you feel comfortable with.
Remember to be concise. Concise does not mean short and simple; concise means no repetition, no redundancy, and no dramatic or flowery language. If you finish writing and find out you have not met the word requirement, put more detail into your summary or introduction. Those are both places where students tend to offer as little information as possible.
