“Not implied in the passage”这样的问题应该怎么理解

我的理解是：只选文中没有提及的内容。但是如果从文中内容可以判断出是个错误的内容，也属于“implied in the passage”.
比如在做新GRE阅读理解36套E25第二个长阅读第三题是这样的：
5. Which of the following statement about many
employers before the twentieth century are NOT
implied in the passage?
A They did not employ women in factories.
B They tended to employ single rather than married
women.
C They hired women only when qualified men
were not available to fill the open positions.
其中A选项可以从文中内容明显推断出来是错误的，按照上面的理解，应该不选，因为文中暗示了。但是网上流传的答案是选了的。
这与C的逻辑形成对照。C是文中没有提及（mentioned）。所以选了。这没有问题。
B是文中提及了，也是正确的表述，所以不选。
