In this argument, the author claims that the hospital should use the
liquid antibacterial hand soaps of UltarClean by present the facts that
UltraClean produce a 40 percent greater reduce in the bacteria population
than the hand soap currently used in our hospital did and the hospital
which have used UltarClean reported a great decline in the number of
patient infection cases. However, the conclusion that the argument
have reached are based on serval assumptions should be proved.
First, the author assumes that reducing the bacteria population can
protect the patients from infection, but there are still other
possible cases. For instance, although UltraClean have reduced
the population of the bacteria, but it may be still alive and could
separate through the air or water to infected the patients. Without
ruling out those possilblities, this assumption might not be warranted.
Secondly, by citing the fact that the hospital use UltraClean have a
significantly fewer cases of patient infecting than the other hospitals,
the author implies that all the hospital are the same with the number
of the patients and the manage mode. There are equal chances that the
hospital which use the UltraClean have created a more effective manage
mode to cut off the infection of the patient or coincidently have less
patients than usual. So, to make the conclusion more convincing, the
author have to show the record of hospital to prove his assumption.
Additional, in the final of the argument, the author advised that the
hospital should use the UltarClean to prevent serious patient
inflection. But the conclusion still base on an unknown assumption that
UltarClean can prevent serious patient infection just because it
can reduce the patient infection. While this may be true in some cases,
but there are still equally possible that UltarClean could only prevent the
infection at a very low rate and when the bacteria population have
reached a great number, it would become useless. Just because of that,
the author needed to find out the data that based on more thorough
investigation to make the assumption warranted.
To sum up, there might be the need for more compelling evidence and
reliable results of surveys to confirm the validity of the author's
assertion.
