Games play an important role in both adults’ life and children’s. But if it is stated that the importance of games is the same for adults as that for children, I can not agree with the statement, because games have different meanings for adults and children and, if we consider the issue from the point that adults take on more responsibilities to the family and society than children, I argue that games are more important for adults.

The main purpose for children to take part in a variety of games is that they can gain helpful experiences, through which the children can be prepared well for their future life, and enjoy happy and carefree childhood. In games, children learn that how to communicate with their peers and get on well with them. All that children learn in games, specially those spiritual fortunes, will influence them positively as they grow up. Moreover, various games give children such a colorful and wonderful childhood period.

As for the meaning of games in some adults’ life, participating in games is their career, functioning a means of making living and supporting their families. A kind of career known as professional players exists all over the world and in such professional sports clubs such as basketball clubs, players have to exert their best performances during the games, trying their best to win the games. So attitudes of these adults towards games seem to be more serious. Without striving in games, these players may become out of work.

Except for the professional games in adult world, games also serve as an way for adults to relax their tired bodies as well as tight nerves. Enjoying in various games, adults can temporarily escape from the tough realities – pressure arising from their life and bad moods caused by unexpected accidents. After such a short time adjustment, they would again be energetic and vigorous to face the incoming challenges, burdening their responsibilities.

To conclude, games mean life for adults and help adults live a better life as well as fulfill their responsibilities efficiently. From this perspective, I believe that games are more important for adults than that for children.

If I say games prove to be an indispensable element in everyone`s childhood,none will disagree with my view completely. However,considerable people who greatly benefit from these games let go of them when they grow to be adults,because they think these games are no more useful for them.As far as I consider,I convince that games are as important for adults as they for children.

Nowadays, there is no denying the fact that games are less automatically associated with children. Actually, games consisting physical games, mental games and so on define much wider than children’s games and they are undoubtedly as important for adults as for children.

First of all, game is very good way for modern adults who often feel tired and full of stress to have a rest. On the one hand, consider physical games for an example. When adults are playing a basketball game, they not only improve physical health but also release of their working stresses. After an interesting game, a shower and a sleep, it will be a new person who is full of energy and passion in the work tomorrow. On the other hand, you can also play chess with your old friends or family members and use this quiet game to rest yourself.

Sometimes, games can also enlighten adults in their work and even bring them success. For example, in 1995 the first computer animation, Toy story, was released and won large amount of praises. What attracted people see this film is not only the technology in computer graphics but the moving story about toys. Just because John Lasseter, the director of this film love games and toys, he could make a so successful animation. Furthermore, some adults even become professional game players. They earn money by playing games and have fun.

Admittedly, if an adult does not view playing games as a job, it is harmful to spend too much time on them. As a saying goes “it does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live”. Games are just like dreams. Some adults who play computer games called “role-play” on Internet day and night are lost in these artificial dreams, which may ruin their lives.

Games play an important role in both adults’ life and children’s. But if it is stated that the importance of games is the same for adults and children, I can not agree with the statement, because games have different meanings for adults and children and there is no sense to make comparison.

The main purpose for children to take part in a variety of games is that they can gain helpful experiences, through which the children can be prepared well for their future life. For example, children in a football team would learn the importance of teamwork spirit. Besides, after losing a game, children would realize that everything was impossible to meet what they expected in advance. All that children learn in games, specially those spiritual fortunes, will influence them positively as they grow up. Moreover, various games bring colorful and happy childhood to children and in the games they can make good friends who share similar hobbies.

As for the meaning of games in some adults’ life, participating in games is their career, as a means of making living. In professional sports clubs such as basketball clubs, leaders take charge of everyday operation, financing and arranging players’ schedules for instance, while players’ responsibilities are to exert their best performances during the games and to try their best to win the games. So attitudes of these adults towards games seem to be more serious. Except for the professional games in adult world, games also serve as an approach for adults to relax their tired bodies as well as tight nerves. Enjoying in various games, adults can temporarily escape from the tough realities – pressure arising from their life and bad moods caused by unexpected accidents.

To conclude, it is not sensible to compare the importance of games for adults and children simply considering different functions of games. Children learn much about their future lives and enrich their childhood through games, while games mean life for some adults and help other adults live a better life.
