There are several viewpoints on the question of how to offer the classes for university students and such schools of views, which considerably differ, have their respective validity. However, in my opinion, going to classes should be optional for university students. This I support with the reasons as follows.

As is known to everybody, university students are no longer immature children, and they are capable of making decisions on which classes should be attended or not. There are large varies of classes in school and it is no doubt that some of them are not as popular in reality as others. Therefore, students should be offered the opportunity to choose the classes they prefer. Meanwhile, with the chance to select the teachers in the university, students can ultimately have their favorite classes as well as teachers.

At the same time, university should give some freedom to students to choose their classes and teachers so as to improve the education of it. With the assistance of this kind of mechanism, teachers will make more efforts to their teaching in class in order to appeal to the students. In addition, the teachers who do not concentrate on their teaching will have few or even no students at all and thus will be in the danger of being asked to resign. Hence, not only teachers but also students will have more motivation and passion to participate in the study process.

Furthermore, in order to study in university, numerous students have part-time job outside the university. If the classes are optional for them, they can choose the time better and make balance between study and work. For instance, I have a part-time job in a restaurant far from school in Wednesday afternoon and I have a class at the same time. If I want to have no conflicts in my time schedule, I have to give up one of them. Nevertheless, if the university gives me chance to choose, then I can no longer worry about it.

As Francis Bacon, the British philosopher, put it,” to choose time is to save time”, I do strongly support the idea that going to classes should be optional instead of being required. I have a dream that one day, every student will attend his/her desirable class and listen to his/her favorite teacher lecturing.

Should university students be required to attend classes? Some people think that university students have the optional to go to classes. In my opinion, however, I agree with the policy that university students should be required to attend classes. There are three reasons to support my argument.

One of the important reasons why university should require student to go to classes is that many distinguished professors are available in classes. These professors usually make great contributions to their fields and know a lot of information, and also know the subject’s trend. Going to their classes, students are always provided more useful and deep knowledge in relevant fields. Meanwhile, professors can offer students a wide range of knowledge and experience, not only about their fields but other fields which are tightly associated with their fields. Instead, you can miss the classes but teach yourself. It is clear that you are hard to get information that are interesting and useful from professors’ presentation. Perhaps information teachers told are useful for the final exam, you are likely to get a low grade because of absence of classes.

Another reason is that students can discuss the problems each other, which could help them understand and grasp. In general, professors may explain some special questions unclearly for you. At this time classmates can help you understand because he/she may know your question better than your teachers do. Moreover, it helps you build a fundamental friendship between students when you are all attending classes.

On the other hand, if you do not attend classes, you are likely to learn a little from textbooks in the end. Books are always abstract and tedious. When you read, it is likely that you have to resort to others’ notes to help you understand. Through this, you may take more time to learn. What’s worse, you may acquire a little.

In conclusion, I think that university students should be required to attend classes because there are many famous professors that teach students and it offer opportunities to discuss the problems to help their studies. Therefore,  attending classes beneficial to students.

That issue whether university students should be required to attend classes provokes many arguments. There are some proponents who would say that it is necessary for college students to go to classes, while others who hold the opposite point of view that attending classes should be optional for students. After a close scrutiny, as for as I am concerned, there are some compulsory courses that all students are required to attend, at the same time it depends on students' favor to choose some other minor classes, such as gym educations, music classes and so forth.|

First of all, it is essential for all the university students to learn various kinds of classes, such as math. On account of math’s importance as the basic of all the other sciences, when playing games, drawing, doing lab reports and so on, we probably can't carry on without math. So it is necessary for all of us to learn math in the college. It is equally true in language classes.

Further more,Furthermore when some students who are major in the same research field, it becomes more important for them to attend fundamental classes in their major. Take my major for example, I study city traffic planning while one of my classmates does research on railway transportation and another on freeway, but we are all required to attend the Traffic and Transportation Management class.
Of course, students also have their opportunities to choose some classes whether to go to or not relying on their interests. Some students like music, so they can choose music classes; some have a mood of physical exercises, and then they could go to gym educations.

Therefore, above all, there are varieties of colorful classes in university. On the premise of the accomplishment of our required classes, university students have their rights to choose their favorite classes freely.

It is heatedly dabated whether or not should university students be required to attend classes. Concerning this issue, different views are revealed. While there are some people advacating that class attendence should be required, others, in contrast, hold the contrary idea that it should be optional for students to attend classes.Personally, I am in favor of the latter perception.

To render class attendence optional would be benefical to those who are more effective when learn by themselves. Some students, if not many, boast extraordinary skills of self-teaching.Obviously, for them, studing by themselves are more efficient. One of my classmates can serve as a striking illustration for this piont. She takes German as her second foreign language, which, in my view, is much more difficult than English. To my surprise, she only attented the first two of the courses and then never came again.Nonetheless, she still received a mark of ninety-nine. Out of curiousity, I asked how she could managed to study so well without attending classes, and it turned out that, for her, self-teaching is far more effective. If class attendence is required, then students like my classmates may be less productive than they should have been.

Of more significance, optional class attendence will not only allow some students learn more effectively, but also serve to improve teaching quality. When students can choose on their owen which class to attend and which not, to attract more students, teenagers will work more intentively and arduously, so that the teaching level can be improved.

It might be tempting for some people to argue that the requirement of attending class may force some part of students to learn at least something. Yet, this arguement cannot stand further thinking. If some students do not want to learn, they will still not learn even if they are forced to classes. No matter how much teachers can teach them, the knowledge that gained in classes is too limited to be enough.Without learning by themselves, they can simply get nowhere. The method of requiring them to classes will not work at all.

As what have been mentioned above, making class attendence optional is benefical for students as well as for the enhancement of teaching quality.Hence, it is obvirously that the latter perspective is more advisable and sagacious.

When faced with the dilemma of deciding whether university students should be required to attend classes, quite a few would claim that attending classes should be optional for students, but others, in contrast, deem that attending classes should be required and that is also my point.

One of the primary causes is that in class you can learn much from the teacher, including his(不知道如果阅卷的是位feminist会怎样想哦,呵呵,开个玩笑) sagacity, a sense of humor and carefulness. Studying is not a simple process, and you need someone to guide you. Teachers are the best guides and advisors. From different teachers in different classes, you can learn different abilities, like how to solve problems effectively, how to overcome the difficulty(ies) and how to be a careful(换个词吧,可以借用bamboo2142003同学用的well-rounded,<看出效果了,互改作文真是很有好处>) person, which can benefit you a lot.

On the other hand, attending classes can make your knowledge and study systematical. All knowledge will be organized in a proper way and given to you effectively. You will know what is the main stem and what is the branch , what is necessary and what is optional in knowledge. (You will figure out the main structure and make all the branches clear?

Furthermore, in class you will have chance to study with classmates, which will help you develop team spirit. You can exchange your thought and solution to different problems with other students. And you can receive a variety of ideas, which not only can broaden your mind, but also teach you how to pick up a better(the best) one. Sometimes you and your classmates will solve a problem together, which means team spirit that do good to you in your future work. (Every time you and your classmates solve a problem together, you will attain an even more profound understanding of team spirit that do good to you in your future work.
Certainly, I cannot deny that attending classes optionally have some advantages. It will inspire your (inspire 直接加sb. ,再添上个with连接后面的interest,不知是不是顺一点) interest (即inspire you with interest) and make you learn just what you want. From what have been discussed above, however, we can draw the conclusion that university students should be required to attend classes, moreover this benefits them a lot(最后这半句去掉吧).

-----------------------------------
These days the attendance record counts much in the students'final grades in universities, which induces a heated discussion about whether the students should be required to attend the classes or not. Some people, especially those students having a part-time job, strongly recommend that the classes be optional while others, represented by the majority of the faculty, claim that it is compulsory to attend the class. As far as I am concerned,I totally buttress the latter point with the reasons going as follows.

Basic to any understanding of the benefits of requiring students to attend classes is that students can study more effectively in the class. It is well known that the guidance of the tutor is the most substantial essence of a book.To skim over one chapter or even more in just two classes is of no surprise for an ordinary teacher. The lessons they give us are highly condensed and once these points are granted and digested, the whole text poses no problem any more.It is much more effective to attend the class than pore over that many pages of texts alone in the dormitory or study lounge and find no solutions at all.It cannot be too much to say that ten minutes in a class are better than one hour out of it.

Another point I would resort to is the interaction and communication between teachers and students and among students themselves. When confronted with tough problems or misunderstandings, students are free to raise their questions in front of all the students. The questions will be subject to the discussion of all the present students tutored by the teacher.Undoubtedly, even no answer approved by all the presents finally comes up, the comprehension and new perspective about
the problem are likely to come into shape.Isn't it much more desirable than striving alone and being trapped in one mode of thinking?Besides the intellectual uplift, the friendship with some really helpful friends and the ability to cooperate, that is
,so-called'team spirit'are developed as well.

Admittedly, some virtues of owning the right to choose a class or not cannot be ignored. The freedom enables students to assign and allocate their time properly. For example,a student may find the optimal study time is midnight,a rare but not necessarily nonexist occasion.Forcing him or her to join the early morning class only drives the student sleepy and drowsy all day long.

According to what is stated above,I would reasonably draw the conclusion that despite some merits of free choice, compulsory attendance is required and necessary,as practiced all these days.

As we all know that, the most important responsibility of university students is to pursue their studies to extend their abilities. In most cases, this would mean they should have the correct attitude and habits. While some people believe that going to class should be optional. I maintain the point that attending class is one of the essentials. The reasons are as follows.

Nowadays, there are too many distractions around college students: computer games, fascinating balls, or even numerous kinds of programmes(我觉得这里应该具体化些,比如TV programs). With all optional courses, maybe some students would lose their goals. Attending class is the most efficient way to help them to(去掉好些) concentrate on their studies. Meanwhile, students who attend classes would have the opportunities(单数感觉好些) to communicate with teachers, who would give some more guidelines to individuals, or help the students solve problems in time. That would be quite a good method to improve students’ course study.

Moreover, attending class means one can have more interaction with his/her classmates. Group’s wisdom always outweighs individual’s. For instance, if one have an idea that may solve the problem, and may not. On the other hand, a group of ten will have a collection of ten ideas. Obviously, these ten ideas would not only work the problem out, but may also have different solutions as selections to find the most valuable one(应该指人find的吧,感觉这句有些问题。). Attending class provides students withchances of cooperation. That will benefit them a lot in the long run.

Last but not the least, as far as students are concerned, just like study is their main task, attending class should be their responsibility. Try to imagine a university of all the students having totally self-controlled(自制,克己?) courses and schedules, what a state of disorder would be! Without some extent of discipline, universities would have trouble with management.

Although universities are responsible to train their students to have the abilities of self-study, attending class is still the best way for students to attain knowledge, communicate with others and discipline themselves, that(which) would lead them to better development.

University offers a much larger space for us college students to obtain more knowledge and skills than high school. In university, we can study things from various fields. However, many classes are compulsorily arranged by university government. But students have their own majors, interests and their time is also limited. As far as I am concerned, it should be optional to attend classes according to the students’ majors, interests and time.

First of all, college students are required to specialize in their majors. The major curriculum on their timetable is the most important things they should learn. But some optional subjects are also required for the students to gain enough credits to graduate. These optional subjects, however, may contribute little to their major study while occupying a lot of time. So students may skip these classes which do not necessarily affect their study.

Additionally, students choose what to learn also according to their personal interests. It is known to all that interest is the best teacher, Without great interest and enthusiasm, students can hardly learn well, let alone attending classes. It is quite reasonable to explain why students choose not to attend some certain classes. Only with great interest, students would find the classes helpful to their study and certainly learn more effectively.

Another reason would be possible conflict on schedule. Students usually have their own timetable. This might cause conflict on schedule if they have to finish something while required to attend classes. In this case, they may choose to skip classes if other things are more important and emergent. In another situation, such as during examination period, students are more likely to arrange time to prepare for the tests if they find it more efficient to study by themselves than to attend a class.
In conclusion, whether attending classes is required or optional depends on the outcome of their study. For all the reasons given above, attending classes should be optional in terms of the students’ majors, interests, and time.

In my country, most universities have established rules to force students to attend almost all the classes, even though some classes might not be suitable for some students. Frankly speaking, I do not consider that it is sensible to adopt those rules. For my part, giving the moderate freedom to students on this issue attending classes would be more advantageous. The argument for my view goes as follows

As a threshold matter, admittedly attending classes might be beneficial for some students in some respects. Teachers will guide us to learn the theory and the discussion and seminar will offer a channel for students to obtain the diverse information about the issue, which will lead to a more profound understanding.

Valid as this argument and I wholeheartedly agree with that, however, it is still not reasonable enough to convince me that In any term attending classes is a sound way for most students, let alone the best one. On one hand, not all the classes are helpful to most students due to some unexpected factors. The unsuitable instruction of some teachers might make students difficult to understand their ideas.

On the other hand, learning on their own might be more efficient than attending classes in some cases. Nowadays, by virtue of the development of technologies the methods and sources students can utilize are extremely abundant. Not only is the amount of relative information students can find incredible thanks to libraries and internet, but also the searching technology and systematic arrangement make it easily to target what they really want. Moreover, though the flexible schedule designed to meet their own needs and concerns learning would become more effective.

Furthermore, another benefit that can not be neglected is that making the attendance of classes optional would enhance the ability of students to study by themselves. By this action, the independent learning will naturally become a favorable choice for students to gain knowledge, and this change will force them to figure out the suitable means to learn faster.

To sum up, albeit attending classes will be helpful to students in a sense, without considering other negative factors one can not argue that students ought to be required to do so. In contrast, attending classes optionally appears to be more advisable when its advantages I have outlined above are taken into account.

300。Study might be an interesting work but the tedious process always makes people give up. interesting work和tedious process是相反的啊
