If you were an employer, which kind of worker would you prefer to hire:

Based on my experiences as an employer, I think that whether I would like to hire an inexperienced employee or an experienced one is based on the requirement and conditions of the job. It depends on the case of well-managed full-grown long time project or the pilot project, which means everyone in the project team is the first time to do it.
Basically, if the job has been carried on for a long period of time and does not require a lot of experience, an inexperience employee with lower salary is preferred, for documentations for the process of the job are well prepared in most cases. I have been working as a software-testing engineer for 3 and half years. In most of the fully-grown project teams, new-hires are inexperienced employees. Because we already have experienced employees in the project team to guide and help them. A complete set of documentation on how to do the job is presented also. An inexperienced employee can get up with the pace in about 1 month. This kind of project team does not last for more than 1 year. Hiring an experienced employee will be a waste for he needs to work in the project team for just months.
If the job is a pilot job, on the other hand, we will need experienced employee to help us. Because, most of the time, we don’t have enough documentations to give us background information to the project. The workers participated in the project need to know how to do the job based on former experiences on related field. The team workers often need to ask other co-workers in cooperating teams how to do the work and related background knowledge. However, in most cases, the inexperienced employee doesn’t know what to ask. So experienced workers who have related experience in other projects and know what questions to ask are required in this kind of situation.
Normally, in a project team, there is a balance between inexperienced workers and inexperienced ones. In this way, the job will be carried out with the most profit and highest efficiency.
