TOPIC: ISSUE36 - "The greatness of individuals can be decided only by those who live after them, not by their contemporaries."

    Nowadays, a controversial issue about how to decide the greatness of individuals among the society has come into vogue. Depending on personal experiences, beliefs, and emotional concerns（注意单复数，感觉这个词挺有用）, we may find that different people have different answers due to their respective point（单复数？）of view. Some people claim that the greatness of individuals can be decided only by those who live after them, while others argue for an opposite attitude. As far as I am concerned, the final judgment should depend on case-by-case analysis of the  two situations . My view will be substantiated by following discussion.（用一个争议开头，值得学习，注意和末段照应）


First of all, The most important/significant thing that should be made clear is the key fact of greatness .Is it right that  The longer his/her theory or activity has sustained, the greater the person is? Admittedly ，sometimes that is one of the important facts（one important fact）, but it should not the crucial one and should never be. Actually, that how much the individual' ideas or activities influence his/her contemporaries and his/her descendants should be the most direct and essential criteria to judge and evaluate a person. Those great people  who have made great contribution to the society deserve respect of his/her contemporaries and descendants. Although A lot of great people failed get recognition at their life time, and even suffered from contempt of his/her peers, their ideas can finally be uncovered by the descendants many years later. To illustrate this, there is appropriate examples that is very persuasive: . Under this situation, it is obvious that .

In addition, another reason I should state out is  the actual value of the ideas or activities of past giants  , however, it is the influences they exerted that matter. For example, Some theories of Aristotle has been proved flaw or wrong, but his greatness never fades because his methods lead all his descendants after him.Similarly, Even Newton's theory has been shaked in some extenses by Einstein. But without their marvelous talents and effort, which pave way for those following them, we will not understand where we are today. Time works as a filter, and only those true and great can suvive. So, it is easy for us to judge a past figure and greatness, whether his/her influences died down soon after his death? Did his/her opinions keep on for year? By compare horizontally and vertically, we can arrive at a fair and just image of a great figure.  （感觉思路很好，只是语言太繁，建议尽量简化一下；保险的话，主题就写在一二句，后面集中举例然后分析，不要绞在一起。还有两个句子放在一起要用关联词，)

      However, when someone's ideas and activities have beneficted the society, recognition should be granted to the individual as soon as possibel, which is also the criteria of Nobel Prize. But it is often difficult to decide ultimate correctness of some ideas, and whether it canl bring about benefits. But some   principles is still available. The scientific and exact of studing course should also be evaluate by the varieble researchers of different fields. Or, if this research has unveiled a new field and this idea fill out the blank of human knowlege, one can also get appropriate reconization in his/her liftetime. Such criterias prevent us from rashly dismiss great ideas or activities just because they seem not to be in effect at present.

In sum, without evaluation by descendants, we can not decide the greatness precisely. Without the evaluation of contemporaries, we can not give the greatness recognition in his/her lifetime. So, wee should cambine them together, to give the giants of the past the flame they deserve and to give people rewards in their lifetime.（建议这句话要在首段出现，起到前后呼应的效果）

谢谢子旋批改的文章，我最近受了不小的打击。呜呜呜，发现自己的文章问题很多，如你所说，内容很成问题，但是现在最怕的就是举例子。自己总能从大体上想出来几个方向，但是真的说到具体的事情时，却说得不是那么能从例子当中体现出来。不知现在你们在怎么准备提纲的。可以分享一下吗？总之，谢谢你啦。
