Due to some weaknesses in your writing, we decided that it would be in your best interest not to enroll you in our required first-year writing and reading class, Great Books 191. We noted, however, that you are particularly strong in math and science.  Because of that strong background, we will allow you to take Honors math and science courses during your first semester, if your interest remains strong in these areas and you wish to take Honors courses in math, science, or both.  During Summer Orientation, please stop in the Honors Office for an appointment with a math advisor to discuss which Honors mathematics courses would be appropriate for you.  Upon the math advisor’s recommendation, we will give you permission to register in those courses.
