TOPIC: ISSUE154 - "Both parents and communities must be involved in the local schools. Education is too important to leave solely to a group of professional educators."

提纲：
1.        肯定教育的重要作用，提出教育需要professional and unprofessional间的互补合作。。
2.        学校教育的作用和不足。
3.        现在父母对教育的认识，及其参与教育的必要性。
4.        社区参与教育的好处总结：父母，社区和学校合作，有利于提升教育质量和学生的综合素质。


From Confucius's private educational forum founded thousands years ago in China to Bologna, the first neoteric normal university established in Italy; from home tutors' appearance in the common family to the teaching online system adopted on and off campus, we, as the younger generation of the new century, benefiting from all sorts of education, get to realize the merits of being well educated. In my view, education is a systemic project, which requires the comprehensive collaboration of both professional and unprofessional elements.

If we cast a look back at the history of education, we may easily find that school education has been playing an increasing important role in freeing the mind, learning the basic principles of our physical world, enjoying the true meanings of arts and literature. Meanwhile, we could also notice that, what students could learn from schools is, to some extent, so limited that they should get more various unprofessional educations, like from their parents or the communities, to get an all-around development.

In reality, parents are the initial and most direct teachers for their children. Ever since the baby’s boring, parents have already been the natural teachers to lead their children how to speak, how to read, and how to take care of themselves. Unfortunately, some of our parents, ignoring their roles in the children's growing up, do not realize their influences on children's development of mentality and character. Furthermore, with the progress of various modern educational methods, especially the great advancement of school education, it seems that parents, nowadays, getting more and more reliable on local schools, regard education only as the responsibility of those professional educators. Therefore, lacking of the necessary connection with school educators, some parents know quite a little about their children's performance at school and thus overlook the potential matters of their children. For instance, the mental problems, popularly existing on campus, are greatly due to the deficiency of effective communication between parents and their children. It is not only necessary but crucially important for parents to realize their roles in the growing up of their children and takes proper ways to involve into the school education.

In addition, we could see a much more exciting picture if communities also make joint efforts on school education. The communities, on a whole, create a moral and culture atmosphere, which has greatly influenced every individual. Like the public- service activities hold by communities, from which our children could benefit really a lot: getting along well with the community inhabitants, cooperating with others to address problems, and finally being socialized to adapt to this new environment out of campus. Joining in the community, in a sense, could assist students to better understand themselves, to realize their interests and thus establish themselves in the future.

As for the education of younger generation, it's no longer the sole obligation of those professional educators. We get to realize the necessity of cooperation among parents, communities and local schools. With their active participation in the local schools, students could better benefit not only the knowledge from textbooks but much more effective experience which will surely be propitious to their future development.
