TOPIC: ISSUE17 - "There are two types of laws: just and unjust. Every individual in a society has a responsibility to obey just laws and, even more importantly, to disobey and resist unjust laws."
WORDS:

Should we obey just laws and disobey unjust laws? The speaker claims so. I concede that every individual is responsible to comply with just laws.Otherwise,in my view it is not necessary for each citizen in society to violate and resist unjust laws.

To begin with, the criterion of justice of a law is a complex issue. People with different value system and personal interests would intend to judge the laws which meet their needs as just whether they are aware of it or not when facing the same legal issue. This is especially true when it comes to personal freedom. Take the controversial issue of euthanasia, which is in dramatically argument in these years, for instance. Those individuals with particular value systems tend to consider laws permit human to take this action to end up their own lives as unjust, and it is a kind of act that doesn’t not cherish human life, while others especially these people who are in dreadful situation and have no choice but death argue that execution of euthanasia is not only the just way to deprive the dreadful suffering but also the way to show respect of people’s freedom and life in contrary. The controversy and similar issues still exist all over the world. It is arbitrary to simply divide the classification of law into just and unjust. The fairness of laws is subjective. In this situation, the chief function of laws is largely to protect and guarantee the interests and rights of the great majority.

The second fundamental problem is that we should obey laws though there is evitable something incomplete and partial. There is often very compact consideration before a law is launched and the purpose of the law is defined by the legislators to achieve its function: guaranteeing the great majority’s interests. Laws ensure a safe and peaceful society in which individuals’ rights are respected. For example, law on the tax system in China states that people should pay income tax and higher-pay taxpayer should pay more tax in accordance with tax-compute formulas. If people were to disobey the law, sanctions and even higher tax rate would have opposed on these people to meet the budget for keeping the society developing of the government. Only by obeying laws which are representative of the great majority can help keep the stability of the society.

The third fundamental problem is that violating laws is not often the wise and effective way to meet what was intended and hopes for, there should be other positive means to adjust the relatively unjust situation.Consider, the sexual discrimination in some states, and laws are not as so completed to protect women rights as that of men. In this situation, the effective and proper means would be appeal to the authority for law modification. Another example is from the Unite States, the first Constitution was made in 1787, the constitution was far from perfect, and the authority listened to its people, made good effort continually and mortified the constitution to meet the needs of the development of the society. Until now, there have been 27 amendments, triple much more words than the initial constitution, and a variety of changes occur all over the country, people now lead much fair and comfortable life than ever before.

Thus, because the function of laws is to guarantee the interests and rights of the great majority ,despite the imperfectness and deficiency of laws, it is critical for us to obey laws, for these imperfect laws, some positive means should be adopted to help modified the laws except for the passively disseverance and resist. Only in this way, the stability and stainable development of our society can be achieved and we will be the beneficiaries at the end.

和北美范文的一些文章结构上相似,针对原论题提出了自己的观点:every individual is responsible to comply with just laws. Otherwise, in my view it is not necessary for each citizen in society to violate and resist unjust laws.

Only by obeying laws which are representative of the great majority can help keep the stability of the society.

The third fundamental problem is that violating laws is not often the wise and effective way to meet what was intended and hopes for; there should be other positive means to adjust the relatively unjust situation. Consider,不用逗号吧,要不然和后面的怎么形成并列结构 the sexual discrimination in some states, and laws are not as so completed to protect women rights as that of men. In this situation, the effective and proper means would be appeal to the authority for law modification. Another example is from the Unite States, the first Constitution was made in 1787, the constitution was far from perfect, and the authority listened to its people, made good effort continually and mortified the constitution to meet the needs of the development of the society.

People with different value system and personal interests would intend to judge the laws which meet their needs as just whether they are aware of it or not when facing the same legal issue. This is especially true [especially true? 不过从语法上讲应该没问题吧, 不过用particularly如何呢?] when it comes to personal freedom. Take the controversial issue of euthanasia, which is in dramatically [dramatically 是副词] argument in these years, for instance. Those individuals with particular value systems tend to consider laws permit human to take this action to end up their own lives as unjust, and it is a kind of act that doesn’t not [粗心了] cherish human life, while others especially these people who are in dreadful situation and have no choice but death argue that execution of euthanasia is not only the just way to deprive the dreadful suffering but also the way to show respect of people’s freedom and life in contrary. The controversy and similar issues still exist all over the world. It is arbitrary to simply divide the classification of law into just and unjust. The fairness of laws is subjective.   The third fundamental problem [和第三段开头相似,要是换个说法应该更好些吧]is that violating laws is not often the wise and effective way to meet what was intended and hopes for, there should be other positive means to adjust the relatively unjust situation. Consider, the sexual discrimination in some states, and laws are not as so [只用一个so就可以了吧] completed to protect women rights as that of men. In this situation, the effective and proper means would be appeal to the authority for law modification. Another example is from the Unite States, the first Constitution was made in 1787, the constitution was far from perfect, and the authority listened to its people, made good effort continually and mortified the constitution to meet the needs of the development of the society. Until now, there have been 27 amendments, triple much more words than the initial constitution, and a variety of changes occur all over the country, people now lead [少个a] much fair and comfortable life than ever before.

Thus, because [如果是我,可能会用since] the function of laws is to guarantee the interests and rights of the great majority, despite the imperfectness and deficiency of laws, it is critical for us to obey laws, for these imperfect laws, some positive means should be adopted to help modified the laws except for the passively disseverance and resist. Only in this way, the stability and stainable development of our society can be achieved and we will be the beneficiaries at the end.
