先说我的签证过程吧,之后再是大使馆的经历和提醒,以后Study Plan。
6月7号早7点45分的签证,整个面签过程是这样的。前面过程全都掠过,因为大家经历的都一样,直接说面签那块吧,我拿的红白牌,让我直接想起了红白喜事,不知道是吉是悲,呵呵。由于等了好长时间了,而且边上还有两个队没有叫,我一想先去趟洗手间吧,解决完问题以后,回来一看我的队找不到了,问了一下边上的队伍,人家说叫走了,我这个晕,爷就去个厕所的功夫……………..到了前面一看我们队在10号窗口,VO是中年男人,40左右岁。其实我这队就6个人,一对母子,一对老夫妇,一个中青年女人,还有我。我刚站稳脚,那对母子就签完了,本以为最后一个才能轮到我,没想到签证官直接就拿到我的表格然后叫我的名字了,
过程如下: VO: *****, How are you?
ME: 拿着10斤的材料一个健步跳到台阶上,与签证官的how are you同步地说出了How are you doing?
VO: (拿起I-20)嘟囔了一句,我没听清楚,主要是还没站稳,材料还没放下呢,然后我的I20就飞了出来,后面还跟着一句Your Visa is approved.
ME: #$%%^^&&**+_)(*%$#@!~,啊?Thank you!!!!!
转身离开,后面引来一片惊异的眼神,见过水的,但没有这么水的。
大使馆的经历和提醒
本人约的是6月7号7点45那场的签证,提前20分钟到了,进签证等候大厅里看看形势。
建议:你可以直接进大厅,在里面等就成了,如果你约的时间到了,大屏幕上会有你的名字,而且有一个保安会在大厅前面说“几点几分的在这排队”,所以不用着急。
PS:如果上一批人走了,你就可以去排队了,比如约7点30分的那拨人排完队被带走后,那么7点45分的人就可以去刚才的位置排队了,不用等保安叫!如果你带了书包的话,要在一进门的右手边那先买一个存包牌,10块1个,一定要先买噢,要不等一会你排的队伍都被带走以后你没有存包牌的话只能退出队伍去买,然后重新排队了。这个存包牌怎么用呢,就是在你排队被带走以后,你这个队伍会在第一个警卫那里停下来,这时就是给你时间去存包处存包,任何电子产品和液体物质都是不能往里带的。)
在过第一个警卫的时候你只需要出示护照就可以了,其实过20米就是第2个警卫点,也只用出示护照。但是记得要在人家检查完你的护照以后说谢谢哦!今天除了我以外,大家都非常惜字如金,没有一个人跟人家说谢谢,人家怎么也是服务于你的,说个谢谢让大家心情都好嘛!我们是有素质的一代年轻人,一定要讲礼貌哦!呵呵!
过了第2个警卫就是安检,北京的安检没有其他地方那么邪乎,不用拖鞋解皮带什么的,你只需要把所有的材料给人家过一遍机器就OK了。之后就到了签证大厅了,这个我就不详述了,以前的帖子里写的太多了,只是我补充几点,里面是有洗手间的,但是我发现除了我去了两次以外没有一个人去,难道大家都是忍者???奇怪,呵呵!大厅里没有饮水机,您渴了的话就只能忍着了,除非你愿意去洗手间那补点水,呵呵!
1到3号窗口是交表格的,但是大家都在一个队里排着,不是我想象中的3个队,等到了3个窗口前再被工作人员指到不同的窗口,在排队的时候请把你的护照,I-20, DS156,157,158, Sevis收据,签证费收据都拿好,你需要把所有的这些都交给人家工作人员,之后人家会给你一个牌牌,每个人的牌牌不一样,你拿到牌后就去找手里拿着相同颜色牌子的人排队,每个颜色都有一个队!
PS:我遇到了一个问题,就是找了半天没找到手里有我这个颜色牌子的队伍,怎么处理呢?这就说明我是第1个拿到这个牌子颜色的人,我需要重新创立一个队伍,所以如果没有找到自己颜色牌子的队伍,说明你需要自己重新站一个队了,不用排在别的队伍后面,直接走到前面把牌子拿到手里就可以了。
排队就是等着按指纹,这个过程我等了半个小时。别着急!按完指纹就可以再排队等待最后的面签了!
如果你过了,那么就要去刚才的签证等候大厅里办理邮寄了! 这里有个问题,我觉得是朝阳区政府的问题。无论你自取还是邮寄都要填邮寄单,但是填邮寄单的地方不在邮寄的地方,而是在大厅的斜对面,记住,斜对面,也就是签证填表处的外面墙的边上,还有,要在你拿到的绿条或者蓝条那签名字和写日期。自取20,邮寄30吧。办完了你在这的任务就结束了,安心地回家等自己的签证吧!
两个小插曲:
1, 我本来是红白队的第一个,但是在按指纹的时候,我刚把左手食指放在机子上,里面的工作人员好像说要我DS 156表格有问题,但不是我的问题,让我等一下,我这一等,就等了5分钟,抱着我的材料眼巴巴地看着3个队的人都按完指纹了,这才轮到我。
2, 等面签的时候等了好久,去了趟厕所回来就找不到自己的队了,没想到VO没按顺序叫,直接把我们队拉走了,有一点虚惊!
感想: 拿了10斤的材料,排了一个多小时的队,就说了两句话简单对话,连一点发挥我口语的机会都没有就被approve了,高兴,真高兴!只可惜我白背了7页的签证对话了,白写了Study Plan了。材料还没放下,脚还没站稳就下来了,哈哈!开心!!!
HMM的确慢,一个人能问20分钟。早上我去的时候就她和另外一个VO在,着实让我担心了一会。
总体来说,签证形势非常好。我的一个同学也去签了,自费。在12号窗口。一共问了3个问题,去哪个学校,读什么专业,谁资助你,所有材料都没看就过了!

Study Plan for MS in Educational Technology at ****** University I plan to pursue a MS degree in Educational Technology at ****** University focusing on systematic instructional design. It is the delightfulness of my explorations in half year academic training in application of multimedia in instruction and related part time jobs when I was in CNU and full time job in **** company that leads me to this decision. From the study and work experiences, I have gained some of basic knowledge of this discipline as well as certain level of research ability. At the same time, these experiences lead me to a challenging career goal to become a reformer as well as a researcher to provide innovative solutions to traditional English education in China. ****** University provides me the best possible opportunity to get myself prepared for this challenge in the future.
Why I want to pursue a M.S. in Educational Technology?
I have got direct contacts with educational technology through my part time job as volunteer teacher in the university and full time job as an assistant researcher in my current company. It is these contacts that spur my strong interests in educational technology. I study the course in educational technology very diligently and get very good scores. However, this is far from enough to face the problems from my current job, not to say achieving my career goal to become a reformer of English education in China.
The leading knowledge and the research ability which I can acquire from the MS study will no doubt give me much solid foundation and also a broader vision. These two characters are what I consider as a must for a reformer who wants to lead a revolution in English education.
Why I choose ****** University?
I first started to know about the ******University from our department chair. She graduated from there many years ago. When she leaned that I was planning to go abroad and further my study in educational technology, she was glad and encouraged me to do, as well as recommend this university to me. We talked a lot and agreed that promoting research and application in educational technology in china is now necessary and will soon prove very fruitful, however the development of this discipline in china is far from satisfactory.
Now I am working in a children education company---***** company, which is the only Chinese commercial agent of The Learning Company in United States. I work as a researcher in Research and Development Department. Our company commits to apply American education programs (such as Dr. Seuss, Arthur, and Reader Rabbit series) to Chinese children’s education. My current duty is to research the programs and edit teaching plan for them; when I edit the teaching plan, I need to convert and extend the on-line programs into actual in-class programs by combining the programs with some supplementary activities and games. However, in the editing process, I came across some problems; sometimes I cannot assess what the learners really like to learn, what their final learning objectives are, whether the activities and the programs fit for them, whether they like the activities and programs or not, and why. Even though we made some investigation and assessment before, I am still facing the problems for lacking of more necessary knowledge and research; besides, While I was doing my research, many ideas came to my mind. But most of them can not be put in to practice. These unrealized ideas are either theoretically inapplicable or limited by my current research skills. I realized that if I want to go further on this road, I have to get myself better trained by people with more advanced ideas and skills. Hence, I need pursue further study in order to strengthen my ability to solve the practical problems.
The educational technology program in ****** University emphasizes “learning by doing” and students are expected to take on challenging assignments, take responsibility for their own learning, and work collaboratively with faculty and other students. The program also takes a theory-based approach to designing, developing, implementing and researching computer-mediated environments to support human activity. Some courses in the program will help me develop the knowledge and techniques necessary to analyze the learning needs and goals of my audience; develop and design instructional materials and activities; and assess and evaluate those activities. The program pays great attention to the application of its researches. I believe it is an excellent place for me to carry out a further study in educational technology and get me prepared for my precise career goal.
What will I do after graduation?
Dream of my future takes its shape when I came to touch the core of the major I love and belong to. When I complete my study in United States, what I will do first is to come back to my current company to utilize the knowledge that I will acquire in US and abundant experience accumulated in China to extend my own career as a senior researcher. While accumulating more practical experience, I will assist our department to set up a specialized research center, which will focus on finding a way that can combine English teaching and instructional technology more effectively in order to make learning English an exciting subject to Chinese students; which will provide a delightful environment with playful language, colorful animations and engaging sound effect for children to explore as they build their reading and counting skills; and which will offer instructional design and technological training to the teachers who are engaged in English education on the basis of systematical research of theories.
Even though our company introduced many good English-learning programs to China, our real objective is to design and develop our own products. Actually, I am not quite satisfied with using American programs to teach Chinese children, and the main reason is the culture differences. Many details in the programs are based on American culture, not fitting for Chinese children. Hence, my plan is to assist our company to design a series of on-computer programs based on Chinese culture and integrated with American Culture, also they must match China Chinese English Syllabus and actuality of Chinese English education. They could not only increase the interest in subjects, but also help children get high scores in a relative short period.
My final objective is to be a member of English Education Reform Department in Ministry of Education. With abundant teaching and researching experience, with solid foundation and broader vision, I will use that to promote a revolution in Chinese English Education System by bring cutting-edge instructional technology and new education concept and methodology into practical English teaching.
