Does studying an academic discipline alter the way we perceive the world? In my observation, this is true. That is to say after studying a discipline, we can see the world more clearly.

First of all, consider astronomy as an example. Astronomy can make us know some common sense, yet before we study it, we may have a different view to the world around us. When I was a child, I thought that the sky was just like a round cover which was covering on the ground and the earth was flat as buildings could stand stably on it. However, the teacher told us that the earth is round and there were some evidence to justify this point of view. The first fact is that we always see the top of the mast first when we watch a ship stirring toward us from the horizon. Another evidence is that Magellan completed a world-round travel by stirring just toward one single direction. So studying astronomy can provide us a correct view of the world around us.

As astronomy helps us know the shape of the earth, chemistry provides us a even more objective view of the things in the world. Chemistry tells us that everything in the world is constituted of elements including us-human being. The plants, the animals and the stones are originally made up by the same thing-elements though animals can move themselves and both animals and plants have lives while the stones do not. Knowing this, we humans make new materials to satisfy the needs of us with the help of chemistry. We made new type of ceramics for the spaceships and we made artificial diamond to make tools and jewelry. Chemistry makes us know that the everything in the world is made up of elements and we can make new materials using these elements as our wishes.

Besides studying these disciplines in science can help us know more about the world, disciplines in humanities can also give us brand new views to the stuffs around us. At first glance, we may find that Great Wall is no more than a old long wall stretching for thousands of miles. Yet, after knowing the history, we are aware of that this miracle shows the huge power of Qingshi Emperor and the behind this wall there are efforts of thousands of people. Moreover, mastering a language, we can know the value system of another people. And a new value system can provide us another view of the things in the world. For example, as most people in the world  express 'yes' with nod, people in some countries express 'no' with nod. So, even disciplines of humanities can change our view toward the world.

Admittedly, the things and stuffs do not change themselves as we study some academic disciplines. Prior to education, everything is constituted of elements and post education everything is still made up of elements. The world around us do not change because of our studying, it is the way that we perceive the world changed due to education.

In conclusion, astronomy and chemistry can make us know the true view of the world. History and even linguistics can provide us new views of the world.  Study of a discipline can provide us a new way for us to see the world.

先答问,地球是圆的应该算地理方面的,当然在欧洲人看来,也可以算是宗教方面的,毕竟打破了当时的宗教信仰.

That is to say after studying a discipline, we can see the world more clearly.(开头可以多列举一些例子,如mathematics,medicine,biology等等然后再着重谈astronomy和chemistry会比较好,后面也好说,就是拿我们上面中提到的chemistry和astronomy来谈谈)
