The author’s assertion of that the surest path to success for any enterprise is to revitalize through new leadership, which I totally approve. But the other word that any profession in power should step down after fives years is too absolute, as in my view, it varies different in every realm.

Admittedly, in politics, a long time of profession in power will lead to autarchy and even tyranny, which will damage the benefits of public ultimately. Consider every dynasty in ancient times, most of their Emperors are the one who attach weigh to the country and public in his first years but then be luxurious and feast every day. Additionally, long time in power will lead to a selfish person and misuse of authority. For instance, a corrupt leader, at the beginning years of his period, is an enlightened, a powerful leader, who spread every effort to carry out his political ideal and serve people. But the longer he's in power, the more he will trend to stand out of the public. He will be selfish and even use the power for his individual. So, as these two aspects, long time in power in politics will bring bad effects to the leadership.

However, in other realms, condition must be taken into consideration, and the situation is different.

In commerce, the standard of leader lies in the profits. As a commercial leader, no matter how excellent is he in management, how versatile is he in commercial fight, if he could make the company profitable, or even more profitable, he may be fired even one year in power. Although Semel, the former CEO of Yahoo, is concerned as the hero who retrievals Yahoo from crisis through holding on the opportunity of advertisement anabiosis in 2001, has to resign due to more gaps to Google in his 6 years in Yahoo. While, Bill Gates, who just retired from Microsoft, has serve as CEO in almost 20 years. So, when it comes to business, the talent in obtain profits is the essential role in leadership.

In education and science, areas emphasized more in experience, the situation will be another vision.  As education and science is progresses need more time, a teacher without years experience may even unknown what the students' thought and how to teach them not only in study but also in behaviors; a scholar without years in study and research may even unfamiliar to the equipments and methods. After years, the most excellent teacher or scholars with abundant experience will became a leader, however, only in five years, he could change even anything in education, or he could not finish the first leader research in so short time. So, when it comes to education and science, professors should be a long time in power, and to the most excellent ones, professorship must be life long. Even when they are too old to research and educate by himself, he could direct and instruct his students and other professors in mind and methods through his experience.

So, as a conclusion, revitalization through new leadership is necessary, however, when it come along, in every realm, varies different.
