[求助]请问留学保证金是算一年的总花费还是全部总花费?

鄙人报了RMIT 09年2月的课程，时间充足所以想办存款保证金。

目前在保证金额计算年限上有点困惑
各大网站论坛的文章几乎都说是 学年X(每年学费+每年生活费+每年医疗保险）+往返机票费
但是官方移民网站（http://www.immi.gov.au/students/students/574-4/financial.htm）是这样说的：

show proof that you can meet these financial requirements for the period of any preliminary course and the first 12 months of your principal course
declare on your application that you can meet these financial requirements for the remainder of your stay in Australia.

鄙人英文比较水，但是他的大意不是说“ 出具证明有能力支付所有初级课程（语言课程？）与前12个月主要课程的学费”。那是保证金额只用1年就够了？

鄙人是DIY的，希望各位前辈不吝赐教。
