  a sudden knock at my door startled me:
who would visit this lone place so remote?
as i saw a girl with a face gloomy
my heart sank like a heavily wrecked boat
she closed her eyes before she drank
for fearing that she would see her own face
at this moment my mind became all blank
so where were my old love's beauty and grace?
under her darkened brow lay one black eye
her fair cheeks were carved with a tiger's claws
her shining hair was now so dull and dry
and his hard paws had broken her soft jaws
never live with a man for his money
only true love is as sweet as honey
