08年5月考过IBT,成绩一般，作文极其惨烈，本来想考G时努力提高一下作文成绩，没想到0906G准备实在不充分，作文写得还跟四级作文没什么区别，只得放弃。觉悟到英语是个长期坚持，提高的过程，像大学平时上课开始那样最后突击不行，下定决心，每天坚持3-5个小时学习英语，相信到了10月，考试就会变成水到渠成的事了。

Issue 50
In order to improve the quality of instruction at the college and university level, all the faculty should be required to spend time working outside the academic world in professions relevant to the courses they teach.
提纲：
1、
为了提高教学质量，大学教师应该在于自己教学相关的非学术职业里工作一段时间，这些经验有助于帮助老师的教学，理论联系实际，完善教学体系
2、
书本的只是往往落后时代，老师的实际经验，能帮助学生职业规划，不仅学到能运用到实际的知识，也能分享老师的职业经验
3、
提高教学质量，不仅仅应该只注重老师非学术性的工作经验，还有很多其他面，比如老师本身学术能力的提高，教学计划与时俱进，教学设备的更新

Whether all the faculty should be required to spend time working outside the academic world in profession relevant to the courses they teach to improve the quality of instruction? In response to this issue, we need to analyze the proposition comprehensively from the dialectic perspective , investigating the nature of the truth by critical analysis of concepts
and hypothesis .The author declares that all faculty should do some relevant professional work ,however ,it oversimplifies this issue .The final judgment in my point of view should depend on a case by case analysis.

First and foremost , I strongly agree with that it is worthwhile for the college to require the faculty to work outside the academia in professional position related to their field. First, the teachers who are engaged in the professional positions with fresh insight can provide the students the non-academic examples of the theory and principles discussed in textbooks, in another words, the fresh examples always can spark the students’ interest. Secondly, the real-life experience of subjects that they teach helps them improve the teaching methods to adapt to today’s highly demanding world.


From the analysis perspective, another essential fact why advocate the staffs’ professional experience involves that the textbook may be a few years old and the pace of technological advancement , social changes and academic progress is so quick that the knowledge contained in recently published textbooks often lags current developments. In today’s world, education imparted within the class-room is not enough for the student’s survival in his /her particular profession. The professor with field experience is better able to impart up-to-date information about what work in the field entails, and even about the current job market, after all, the professor always be the first professional person to consult when students have some problems about jobs .

However ,we should concede that despite the merits of the professional work mentioned above, a series of other facts are also important to educate the students. First and foremost, the professor should improve his academic capability , for the essential task for a student at school is studying. Secondly, the college should provide the young with advanced laboratory and equipments as well as the up-to-date teaching planning. In another words, at the financing level, the government should pour more investment into the research.

From the analysis made above, I strongly commit for the notion that we need to call for a balance between academic and professional work of professors. In a word, this complex issue depends on quality of instruction from the professors.
