Severe and flood threat continues

Thunderstorms with wind gusts to 70 mph, large hail, and torrential rains have slammed the Dallas, Texas area. The storms hit the Dallas Cowboys Practice Facility in Irving, Texas causing an air-supported practice bubble that covers a field at the Dallas Cowboys facility to collapse. The cause is being reviewed but was caused by strong winds, heavy rain, hail or possible tornado. Reports of 7 injuries and 1 critical due to the collapse. There were 80 people in the facility taking part in the Cowboy Rookie Camp Practices.
Severe storms have also spun into multiple tornado reports in northeast Mississippi near Mantachie, Mississippi near Tupelo well into northwest Alabama with tree and power line damage widespread.
The bad weather is due to a stalled front is focusing coalescing clusters of thunderstorms with torrential rains from Oklahoma and northern Texas to the Tennessee Valley and southern Appalachians. Rain and thunderstorms will expand eastward into North Carolina and the southern Mid-Atlantic.
Parts of Arkansas, northern Mississippi, northern Alabama and Tennessee will pick up an additional 3 to 6 inches, possibly more. Other parts of this zone from the southern Plains to the Mid-Atlantic will pick up 1 to 3 inches of additional rain. Flash flooding will remain a widespread threat through the weekend, with additional river flooding developing from the southern Plains to the Tennessee Valley.
Isolated severe thunderstorms, capable of large hail and locally damaging winds, will also be possible in any of these areas. Frequent and dangerous lightning will also accompany the thunderstorms.
The greatest risk for severe thunderstorms will be over northeastern to central Texas, southeast Oklahoma, southern Arkansas, and northern Louisiana. Here, more large hail, damaging winds, and tornadoes are possible. A few severe storms are possible east of this area into the Carolinas and southern Virginia.
