Since different people have different experiences, thoughts and feelings, many of us might think that our observation of objects which exist objectively would be influenced by our ideas and guided by expectations or desires, therefore it is subjective. However, in my opinion, I think our observation can be objective, but the primary condition is that we already have enough scientific knowledge, that is to say, if the interpret is objective, the observation is objective.
For example, when we all look at the moon, some without basic physical knowledge imagine it as a lighted ball with shadows. There is an old Chinese legend about the moon. A beautiful woman is living in the moon with a white rabbit, and what we saw is her shadow. At the same time, those who have studied physics know that the moon cannot shine, it can only reflect the light of the sun, and the shadows are the caves in its surface, therefore they also draw a picture in which there is an asteroid with a lot of caves in its surface in the universe. I think the latter people's observation is objective. The correct scientific interpretation of their observation is responsible for the objectiveness.
Our observation may be guided by our expectation or desires sometimes, but not always. We have scientific methods to justify our observation. Through the famous experiment in the leaning tower of Pisa, Galileo gave all of the audiences an objective observation that the feather reached to the earth as fast as the shot. Through a review of a video record, we agree with the side judge that the crucial ball of Nadal is indeed out of line, even though we are big fans of Nadal. Through the anatomic technology, we are know that the brain of Einstein, an intelligent normal person rather than a hallowed genius is as the same as ours. It is because those developing technology that give us more and more objective observations of the world.
For the purely objective observation, I think it is difficult for us to reach. Since the natural phenomena are so abstruse that merely people can explain them. Newton brought the law of gravitation to the world to explain the process of an apple dropping to the earth. For me, I admit that this explanation is already objective. For Newton, isn't the interpretation his assumption? Is it true that a force really exist between the earth and the apple? It is our limited knowledge of the nature that makes us frustrated and prevents us from reaching purely objective observation.
To sum up, if we have correct scientific knowledge to interpret what we observe, our observation can be objective. Although we can hardly get purely objective observation, we will get close to it with the help of our technology and science development.
