ISSUE130 - "How children are socialized today determines the destiny of society. Unfortunately, we have not yet learned how to raise children who can help bring about a better society."
I don't agree with the speaker that the destiny of our society is ruined by the education since we have not yet learned how to raise children who can help bring about a better society. As we all know, there are top universities which can help raise children up properly and the social destiny is not requisitely decided by individual destiny.
Honestly, there is not a systematic way of education that can guide parents how to raise children so as to let them socialize properly. As a result, no one knows exactly how to raise children properly so as to let him make greatest contribution to the society after grow-up. In contemporary world, nearly each country's education philosophy is different from any other's. What's more, even in a single country the education method is so diversified in each state. If one had designed an education mechanism that suits every child in the world, then there wound not be so much controversy in the education field.
However, the fact that there is not an authoritative education method does not mean that we have not yet learned how to raise children who can help bring a better society. Otherwise, the world would not have experienced so many significant advancements. A persuasive example is that there are so many top universities in U.S. All of the parents would like to make their children be admitted to those universities since they believe that their children would benefit a lot from those education methods. A student would feel stimulated once experiencing the hard-working atmosphere, and top universities offer the top faculty and facility as well as proper guide to students about how to choose their own way of self-developing. We have to admit that most of those technological changes are made by top university alumni, which in turn bring great benefit to the construction of a better society.
Further more, it is not necessarily through the socialization of children that the destiny of society is determined. During the process of socialization, a child learns about how to find his role in society, which matters much to his own destiny. After all, destiny of society as a whole, does not rely on individual's. Even if some children were not socialized properly, those would be corrected after they grew up and entered job market. Otherwise, they would not be able to survive in the fierce competition.
In sum, the destiny of society is still promising because even though we have not devised a widely accepted education mechanism, we do know several methods that can socialize children properly, which in turn will make them more beneficial to society.
