Technologies have brought a sea of changes including the change of the life style, the transportation and so on, to our daily life. Does the technology not only influence but actually determine social customs and ethics? The speaker claims so. As far as I concerned, the technology which has a deep effect on the society certainly influences the social customs and ethics but cannot determine them.

Firstly, there are few, if any, people will deny that the technology has increasingly affect the custom and the ethic of society. As we know, with the development of the technology, our life has being, gradually, full of high technology products which play the significant role in our work and daily life. Begin with the life habit, the technology affects the whole society step by step, finally, including the concept and the ethics. As a typical example, the Internet, an indispensable tool for the society, now has influenced the custom and ethic. At the beginning, the Internet just is used as a convenient way to communicate and share the information with the world, but following with the internet becoming more widespread, the Internet has changed the people's habit of shopping, reading, chatting as well as thinking and expression. For example, if one is hungry, what he or she needs to do is just to order some food on the Internet delivery center and then reading the news on the web set, in order to kill the time of waiting for his lunch. When he or she finds something does not harmonize with his or her own thought, he or she can conveniently express the opinion on the Internet, no matter what it is and totally need not to obey even consider the principle of the ethic since there is not a tangible principle to constrain the behavior of the netizen. The convenience of Internet gives us more opportunity to express our view on the virtual world regardless the traditional ethic, but reduces the chance of having face to face contact, the original method of communication. The technology definitely influences the social custom and ethic, but can it determine the ethic and custom alone as the speaker claims?

Definitely no, the social customs and ethics are affected by other factor, only through the technology, it is impossible to determine the custom and ethic. It is no doubt that a society is composed by individuals who have the common background in which they grew and received the education. And because the ethic and custom is the reflection of the people behavior and the habits, the ethic and custom is related to the people's characters and values which is built by the education and back ground. So the traditional culture which determine the whole back ground and the concept of education, can also affect the trends of the custom and ethic. For example, in the Chinese society, under the influence of thousands years' civilization, the ethic and the custom has generally formed. Even with the shock of the technology and the western thought, which may influence the popular custom and ethic in some special field, the basic custom and ethic is still unchanged and just processes on its own tract.

Under the influence of the technology, the social customs and ethics have changed to meet the popular trends which are determined by the development of the technology. But even that, the basic social customs and ethics which base on the traditional culture cannot be shaken easily since not only determine by the technology, but also other factor-the society culture.

对于第二段，例子很精彩，但叙述稍显啰嗦 在一段末尾设问 似乎也不符合美国人的
