There is no denying that studying history plays an important role in the progress of human civilization. One's life only lasts for a few decades thereby every generation and every individual only can get limited experience and knowledge. In order to achieve broader horizons and richer knowledge, it is necessary to learn from history. However, Does the study of history have value only to the extent that it is relevant to our daily live? Are a great diversity of history books, the history research by innumerable scholars just for add some interesting history story for our daily lives? Is it just for a satisfactory score in exam to study history by us? Apparently not. I will
analyze what makes generation by generation to study history.

First of all, history leaves us lots of experience and lessons. There is nothing new under the sun. The problems disturbing us were also faced by our ancestors. The range of these problems not only covers daily life, but also the country affairs and policies. For the daily life, we can see no further than the goals of our lives. Love, family, money and career which were the most goals of us were also pursued by our ancestors. What priorities should be gave to these things by us? Various answer can be learned from the figures of history. There are many great men succeeding in careers, but not in terms of love and caring for family. However, some giants can keep a good balance among them, such as the mathematician Euler who not only made a enormous contribution in mathematics, but also had a happy family and paid much attention to care his families. Therefore, study history can teach us how to organize life and achieve happiness. For the national policies, if we know the great disaster brought by the two World Wars, we will don't easily consider war when face some little interests.


What's more, learning history helps us to understand today's world. Nowadays, American education is a highly-developed system with flexibility and comprehensiveness. Although , some children cannot finished their education due to lack of self-control, which leads to bring about No Child Left Behind Act. However, if we know American today's education is developed from the education of standard exam, we will not go back to exam-oriented education when execute the act.

Last but not least, study of history is useful for predicting future for us. We can see no further than the Moore's Law in electronic industry. Although, we don't know what's world in the future, it can be known that the electronic product will be quickly improved by learning the knowledge of history of electronic products.

To sum up, the value of learning history cannot be only limited in the range of daily lives. We should not focus on how to pass the exam, whether it is relevant with our daily lives when learn history and read history books. What the study of history brings us is broad horizon
and understanding the world profoundly.
