159题目:The human mind will always be superior to machines because machines are only tools of human minds.
7. 总结
正文:
I agree the statement insofar as machines existed nowadays is utilized only as the tools of human mind. But some times human is merely a component of a running, ceaseless, and unremitting machine of socialized mass production. As for the speaker’s another claim, in certain respects machines are superior. Furthermore, to some extent, there could be possibility that one day machine will ultimately surpass human minds if the issue artificial intelligence is broached.
General speaking, among human history, machine is a great invention which enhances human productivities, upgrades the efficiency, and accelerates the development of human society all the time. Machines are the most loyal friend of human, because they require nothing except a mite amount of electricity or petrol; they never become emotional and always follow an order to complete what man cannot; they are strong and fast, and every tusk man gives to can be accomplished by them both effectively and efficiently. People never dread them, rather like and depend on them, since people cognized their loyalty.
But things changed since people became aware that, in modern times, machines do not really serve men but men have to keep a even pace with machines. People found that they have been fixed on a producing flow line and repeat what they are doing. Producing is a ceaseless, unremitting process, even if we do not know the purpose of producing. This is a subsequence of modernization as well as socialized large scale production. Modernization is a key challenging the belief that whether machines are the tools of human minds or human, as one of the components of machine, serve machines.
Going further about this issue, we will notice a more interesting yet more scaring truth. The mechanization of human beings is not only the requirement of socialized mass production but also the requirement of advanced technology. Gene technology, for example, is a highly sophisticated study towards a goal that, through deciphering the keys of genome, people will ultimately know every secret about human beings regardless how complex it is. That suggests an undeniable fact – human beings can be regard as delicate machines. Under this logic, it is not difficult make a deduction that the only deference between human and machines nowadays is the materials forming human and machines. Machines are made by iron while we by carbohydrate. Thus, some day in the future, to create a machine as intricate as, or even more sophisticated than, the intelligence of human is a matter of time. Actually, this machine is what people call artificial intelligence.
Artificial intelligence is a complex issue concerning various aspects of technology and traditional ethics. In the technology field, it represents the most brilliant feat of human minds; while in the ethics field, it brings a lot of debate and anxiety. On one hand, to aspire after a great visible achievement is the nature of human beings; on the other hand, people cannot discern what the consequence imply. This anxiety, combined with both worriment and aspiration, is well expressed by innumerate movies and novels, such as MATRIX, ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE, and so on.
According to the discussion above, there arises a fundamental question: should we interdict all the tined technology that will challenge our traditional ethics? In my opinion, it is inevitable that we encounter with the conflict between new technology which the development of our society is realized by and traditional ethics where our society fundamentally based on. The key to solve this conflict is not assertively to prohibit or to instigate but rather to use democracy to arbitrate. The destiny of human beings cannot be determined by few people under the name of developing technology. Thus all of humans would be beatified by the fruit of our intellect, if it has been proved beneficial; or pay the cost of braveness, if the consequence is devastating.
In sum, highly advanced minds of human is a double-edged sword. It make us recognize how brilliant we are and become aware how insignificant, according to universe, we are. |
