138"Only through mistakes can there be discovery or progress."

Perhaps, “Failure is the mother of success” is the most familiar adage since my childhood. Tomas Edison, the world greatest inventor’s never-give-up spirit even on the condition of failing 6000 times truly encourages me during my growth. However, only have mistakes there can not be any success.

Undeniably, mistakes help us find out what is unworkable and hence we can approach the right solution. Many famous figures in history have been failed thousands of time before they reached success. The voluminous personal papers of Edison reveal that his inventions typically success did not spring to life in a flash of inspiration but evolved slowly from making thousands of mistakes. After his success Edison told peopleI didn’t fail 6000 times, I just found 6000 ways that didn’t work.” Such spirit exactly interpret that making mistakes is not awful, instead, it provides us an opportunity to exclude a way that doesn’t work and hence we march in a right direction toward success.

However, merely making mistakes can not bring us any success. Mistakes do not automatically lead us to discovery or progress. The proposition that “Only through mistakes can there be discoveries and progress” induces the illusion that, as long as researchers keep on undertaking trials and experiments regardless of efficiency and cost, victory will be there automatically and inevitably. But it often not the case, there are plenty instances in which certain scientific missions have to be terminated eternally because the prospect of making a discovery is all too bleak. If we allow ourselves to cherish the blind faith in an ultimate victory, we will end in the mire of endless failure. Only through making mistakes and then learning from them can there be any progress or discoveries.

In addition, we should not overlook that besides the mere mistakes there are other significant elements of success we should take into consider. Since so many predecessors have made mistakes which give us a huge pool of experience, we can find that there is a shortcut to success is standing upon the shoulders of giants. Learning from the experience which made of countless mistakes by predecessors we can effectively avoid wasting the time and energy to make the same mistake which have been already corrected by forefathers. If people want to achieve success they should learn how to learn from the former experience and conclude the best way for them to avoid mistakes and get success in the most efficient way. On one hand, we should not be scare of making mistakes for they can provide us with an opportunity to try a new approach. On the other hand, we should take the best use of predecessors’ precious experience to avoid committing the same mistakes which is nothing but wasting our time and resources.

In sum, making mistakes is the foundation of reaching a success. Importantly, we should not making mistakes blindly without learning from them. Only through making mistakes and learning from mistakes, can there be any progress and discoveries.

Perhaps, “Failure is the mother of success” is the most familiar adage to me?)since my childhood. Tomas Edison, the world greatest inventor’s never-give-up spirit even on the condition of failing 6000 times truly encourages me during my growth. However, only have mistakes there can not be any success. (观点提了一半,再明确一下)
After his success Edison told people “I didn’t fail 6000 times, I just found 6000 ways that didn’t work.” Such spirit exactly interprets that making mistakes is not awful, instead, it provides us an opportunity to exclude a way that doesn’t work and hence we march in a right direction toward success.
(此段论点明确,例证加引用,论证有力)

(貌似the太多了,替换为an会好吗) illusion that, as long as researchers keep on undertaking trials and experiments
regardless of efficiency and cost, victory will be there automatically and inevitably. But it is often not the case, there are plenty instances in which certain scientific missions have to be terminated eternally because the prospect of making a discovery is all too bleak. If we allow ourselves to cherish the blind faith in an ultimate victory, we will end in the mire of endless failure.
(该句的论证角度没有充分支持论点)Only through making mistakes and then learning from them can there be any progress or discoveries.

In addition, we should not overlook that besides the mere mistakes there are other significant elements of success we should take into consider.
Since so many predecessors have made mistakes which
换为So many mistakes have been made by predecessors that give us a huge pool of experience, (by which) we can find that there is a shortcut to success is bystanding upon the shoulders of giants. Learning from the experience which is made of derive fromcountless mistakes by predecessors we can effectively avoid wasting the time and energy to make the same mistake which have been already corrected by forefathers. If people want to achieve success they should learn how to learn from the former(不太好吧,previous怎么样) experience and conclude the best way for them to avoid mistakes and get success in the most efficient way. On one hand, we should not be scare of making mistakes for they can provide us with an opportunity to try a new approach. On the other hand, we should take the best use of predecessors’ precious experience to avoid committing the same mistakes which is nothing but wasting our time and resources. (和前一段论述观点差不多,merely mistakes cannot naturally assure us success, we have to learn from them,不过最好能更进一步来论证)

In sum, making mistakes is the foundation of reaching a success. Importantly, we should not making mistakes blindly without learning from them. Only through making mistakes and learning from mistakes, can there be any progress and discoveries.(
