8.31独立 Parents should allow children to make their own choices rather than determine their children’s future for them.

Children are supposed to make their own decisions so that they can better prepare themselves with valuable experience and earlier independence, and choose what they really intend to do.

Above all, the experience gained by deciding what one need to do is of great value for children. As is universally acknowledged, it takes time to find the proper decisions and to give up the others. Therefore, learning to select from various options earlier enables one to get familiar with the procedure of choosing. IF he learns to look at the big picture before making a plan, to think out of the box before decide, and to judge which the best option for the current situations is when he is little, he will be more advantageous than peer. Take myself for example. Thanks to my parents' open-minded, I am used to deciding whatever I want. When it comes to selecting my major before university, I got more confident than others in my options.

Nevertheless, since sooner or later young citizens will grow up and determine their own future, making decisions by their own in their childhood enhances their development of independence. No matter whether kids make their mind after their second thoughts or not, they themselves will finally undertake the results, therefore learning a bitter or sweet lesson. Surely, the consideration of future and self-interest comes, and the independence of children develops eventually. For instance, if a boy always deals with friends and families properly without guidance, then it is no surprise that he can handle human relations effectively in the future.

Additionally, if children can opt freely, they can certainly choose what they are really inclined to do. To select by their own and to do what they intend to do leads to efficiency and effectiveness of work and study. And through the willingness and effectiveness, children can enjoy the moments as well as expect an aspiring future. My cousin is one of the most wonderful illustrations. When he determined to be a cook after graduation from high school is quite controversial and risky, but after ten years' struggling, he now has a large restaurant with some chain shops. Had he had followed the decision of his parents to go to universities, he could never achieve this.

Therefore, determining big decisions by kids themselves is a wiser choice for their experience, independence and interests.

其实还是讲不清楚 或者是太罗嗦了。。
听力一定要心态好 第三点心态不好 听不进去了
The reading passage suggests three solutions to eliminate the cane toad in Australia, which endanger native species and crops in Australia. Nevertheless, the lecture challenges these solutions, explaining that they are either useless or harmful to the environment.

The reading holds a national fence will prevent the toads going to other parts of Australia. However, the lecturer believes this solution does not work in consideration of young toads and toads' eggs. When the cane toad is small or in an egg form, it can flow with rivers and streams, heading to anywhere in the country. Therefore, building a fence cannot stop young toads and toads' eggs.

In addition, turning to volunteers is also not a helpful solution, contradicting what reading claims. Since the cane frogs and native frogs, which tend to extinct nowadays, look similarly, especially when they are young, volunteers may possibly catch and kill the wrong ones. Surely, this will cause damage to environment too.

Moreover, it is still not advisable to use a virus to kill the cane toad, which is recommended in the reading. Many other kinds of reptiles and amphibians in Australia will inevitably carry the disease-causing virus. If any of them are transported to Central and South America by researchers and collectors, it would be a huge disaster for the cane toad there. As is mentioned in the reading, the cane toad is native and populated. Imaginably, the impact of the death of the cane toad to the ecosystem would be far-reaching.

The professional athletes are deserved to paid in high salaries.
BT的题目 我是在是写不出什么来。。
High salaries for professional athletes are reasonable for the equality, the requirements of their physical conditions and the risks for their bodies.

Above all, professional athletes are as qualified as people who are professional in other fields, resulting in high salaries as others for the sake of fairness. If there are high salaries for the top professional, then the athletes should be treated as the same. Since CEOs get millions of money by their work, there is no surprising that top athletes get a huge amount of money from their jobs. In addition, considering how much lower professional athletes get from their work, sportsmen and sportswomen cannot be charged of high salaries. Simply put, once a retired professional football player made a living by selling his medals. This is because he did not get enough money from his career, not mention his pensions.

Another reason for athletes' salaries is for the requirements of their health conditions. As is acknowledged to all, only a few men and women can reach the standards of being excellent athletes. For those who are strong enough to be qualified, they still need to spend years to train themselves and to maintain the best conditions of their bodies, which of course is expensive. It can be said that the high salaries are for the strict physical standards for full-time athletes. If there are only one out of a thousand meeting the requirement and they should spare no efforts to achieve glory, it is not uncommon that they gain a huge amount of money.

Equally important is that the high risk in physical professional athletes take is as high as other risky jobs, which explains the amount of salaries they get. The fact that people who pick highly risky jobs possess salaries is undeniable. For instance, workers at nuclear power plant enjoy decent salaries for the exposure to radiation; the stock managers share a large part of profits because their money is always at stake. Similarly, as athletes are always risk themselves to injuries, they are supposed to take the money for the physical risk. Otherwise, they cannot afford the cost for the possible accidents. For example, Lan Sang, a distinguish Chinese athletes injured her vertebrate while exercising. As a result, she spent her rest of life on wheelchair. If she had not get enough money from her previous work, she could hardly support herself after the accident.

Conclusively, because of the fairness among various jobs, the standards set for sportsmen, and the risk they take, professional athletes deserve to get high salaries.

tpo17第一版本 18 min
The reading passage states that the number of birds will continue to decline because of the expansion of human beings, the increase of agricultural activities and chemical pesticides. However, the lecture challenges this point, demonstrating the statement is unjustifiable.

To begin with, the passage claims that birds will go on to disappear for the decline of their habitats for the expansion of settlements. Nevertheless, the speaker maintains that urban growth will lead to better and larger habitats for some birds. Actually, there are an increasing number of birds in cities recently, like pigeons. Even falcons and hawks are preying them in cities. It is more likely that although the number of some birds will decrease, most ones will continue to increase in such situation.

In addition, the lecture argues that there will be much less lands
for agricultural use, thus providing enough space for birds living, which goes against what the reading says. With the development of science and technology, crops tend to be more productive than they once were. So the increase of the products per unit of land will continue to rise, and the use of lands will correspondently fall down.

Moreover, while the reading mentions the destructive function of the usage of chemical pesticides for birds, the speaker refutes that because of the awareness of their harmful impact, two main measures will change this situation. First, the advent of new and less toxic pesticides will be widely spread for the sake of birds. Second, the introduction of pest-resistant crops will also help solve the problem.

公众需要为交通工具付费吗?
计时 30min  最后来不及 加了一句话 遂不写结尾
Nowadays public transportations are increasingly favored for their quality of environmental friendly. Some people even argue that by providing free buses and subways, the traffic problem can be significantly relieved. However, from my perspective, free transportations will more or less bring about chaotic situations, more complex traffic problems and even the burdens of the poor.

The first problem transporting the public for free is that people will be eager to choose taking those transportations for various purposes, resulting in overcrowded buses and subways. It is already common that a bus carrying much more people than it is not supposed to take in rush hours in China. Also, aged people and younger children cannot enjoy their priority in taking the seats, because in such crowded space, few would like to stand in the space that standing can be barely accomplished. Imaginably, if buses are free to carry everyone to anywhere, a huge amount of people will take the buses and the buses can be a running prison.

Another problem of free public transportations is more traffic jam and accidents on roads. As is universally acknowledged, the more people a bus carry, the higher risk it takes for accidents and the more serious the accidents could be. If the bus company still run with the same amount of buses, the average number of people the bus take will increase, and there comes more dangerous accidents. On the other hand, if the company decides to increase the number of buses, then there will be more buses on the streets, adding more pressure to the busy enough traffic. In a word, both solutions for free bus lines will only cause more traffic problems.

Finally, the financial burdens from free buses will finally return to people, especially those who cannot afford them. Public transportation companies can only maintain their profits or even support itself by financial aids from government. The government also needs to pay much more for the busier traffic, thanks to the free buses policy. In return, the taxes for everyone will arise finally. Obviously, the increase of taxes will only trouble the poor, while the rich do not care that much for their wealth. In a word, the free buses and subways only worry the poor, whereas everyone in the city has the same right of taking transportation for free.
